Finn and Jake must escape exile in an endless sky before they can restore Ooo.

Tropes:

  • Bottle Episode: It's mostly Finn and Jake on a cloud, musing about life while separated from Ice King and Betty, who appear in the beginning and the end of the episode.
  • Breather Episode: This episode is a rest between the infiltration of Ice Kingdom in the previous episode and the rescue of the other kingdoms in the following episodes.
  • Improvised Parachute: Finn uses Ice King's jacket as a glider to get to the angler lard and save Jake.
  • It's All My Fault: Finn blames himself for leaving Ooo and letting Patience St. Pim take over, feeling that he left for selfish reasons. However, Jake points out to him that if they hadn't left, they would have likely been transformed by the spell and not be able to do anything about it.
  • The Lonely Door: Finn spots a cloud with a door on top, and calls Jake, but Jake is too busy trying to pee. When it reappears, Jake opens the door, hoping it leads somewhere else, hopefully back to Ice King and Betty. Behind the door he finds a toilet, just what he needed. Except the whole thing was actually the lure of an angler lard that then tries to eat him.
  • Luring in Prey: The cloud with the bathroom turns out to be an angler lard that tries to eat Jake, the bathroom being its lure.
  • Potty Emergency: Just as they're about to glide down off the cloud, Jake has to pee and goes back because peeing while gliding "feels weird". He also can't go if anyone is watching.
  • Stepford Smiler: It's revealed that Jake is this. When Finn finally questions about Jake's seemingly nonchalant attitude, Jake reveals that he's flat-out terrified and anxious about everything, especially since Lady Rainicorn and their children have changed as well. However, he feels that he needs to maintain a positive front and keep calm because he is the older brother and responsible for Finn.
    • One can say this extends beyond the current situation and that Jake's positive upbeatness is largely in part so he can help Finn cope with all of this.
  • They Have the Scent!: Finn lets the angler lard smell Ice King's jacket so that it would lead them back to him and Betty.
  • Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: The angler lard warps its tongue around Ice King, intending to eat him. It finds him distasteful and leaves in disgust.
