Your mama may have had eyes in the back of her head, but our admin team just can't see everything at once. It takes a village to make sure TVTropes is running the way it should, so when it comes to spotting tech snafus, dreaming up a better digital mousetrap, or just diagnosing plain old asshattery, the quicker you let us know something's up, the quicker we can address it. See a bug? Point to it and we'll squash it. Have idea for a new feature? Post in the Tech Wishlist.

Have you tried PM'ing the mods?

Resurrecting this one as it came up again today.

The Edit Banned thread logic doesn't look at subforum bans when validating whether or not a non-mod user is able to post there.

This means that users who only have a subforum ban are caught in limbo and can't appeal. The mod workaround is to manually suspend them from something else as well - e.g. some part of the site that's retired or very rarely used.

It would be good to fix this one way or the other, though. Either we revise the EB thread logic, or we look to automatically add and remove one of those other 'retired' suspension markers when subforum bans are used.

Wouldn't it be logical to just count subforum suspensions... as a suspension that unlocks posting in EB? It's very odd it does not.
