The relevant forum thread has seen no activity in months, and even the existing activity shows that people can't seem to agree on what should be done.
Agreed, I've found them unhelpful and unfunny. They'd make no real sense to anyone who isn't familiar with the episodes, and if an element is really important, we'd mention it in the recap description anyways.
The things in my dreams wish they could chase me!
Some of the more "wuh?"-worthy examples included:
- Patty Hype: The one where Patrick can't see his forehead.note
- Sailor Mouth: The one where they say number elevennote .
- No Weenies Allowed: The one with a bowl of nails...without any milk.note
- I Was A Teenage Gary: The one that mentions the town of Ukulele Bottom.note
- Fools In April: The one with an extreme thirst!note
Edit: Another troper has already removed a few of them. I think it should be fine to cut them.

Yeah, I'm not opposed to these in general, but the ones added are... weird. Some of them not even relevant.
For example, take Teenage Gary. This is one of the most infamous episodes for being horror-themed and having an urban legend about a removed scene. Of all the important moments in the episode — Squidward's creepy transformation, Gary being sick, the ending, etc... Why Ukulele Bottom?
I think we do have a Spongebob Cleanup in short term, actually.

I've watched all those episodes and these descriptions make no real sense even to me. The one from "Fools in April" is even misguiding, since there is actually an episode where SpongeBob being extremely thirsty is a major plot point. +1 vote for deletion.
just recently we agreed to get rid of The One With… being linked on the sonic the hedgehog game pages, which was a relatively easy decision and quick cleanup project, so it should be easy to get rid of it here too — i feel like it's unnecessary and not especially helpful or funny

Some troper has added "The One With [element in said episode]" to each episode description of Spongebob Squarepants for the first three seasons. They range from something integral to the episode (i.e. Club Spongebob being "The one with the Magic Conch Shell", which is an important part of the episode) to something largely irrelevant (i.e My Pretty Seahorse being "The one with the coin slot", which only shows up as a seconds-long gag that has no bearing on the plot and is never mentioned again). Since The One With is now Just For Fun (and not linked to on any of these recap pages), are these additions OK to keep, or should they be removed for lack of relevance?
