A rather dark showerthought that came to me: the cameos by Garfield and Magiure's Spider-Men in the Holographic Database of Spider-Trauma implies both of them are members of the Society. After seeing how well adjusted and friendly they were in No Way Home, that they'd sign on with Miguel's band of fatalists is quite the bummer.
I doubt Holland is a member, though, as he isn't seen, only mentioned by Miguel, who seems to dislike him. It seems they're monitoring him though, as they knew about the Dr. Strange incident.
Possibly, or Miguel may have just been using their universes as visual reference. I presume they wouldn't side with Miguel, having aided MCU Peter's efforts to prevent the villains from dying. That's probably another reason why Miguel avoided recruiting that Peter.

Ooh that's right, they helped people avoid "canonical" deaths, good point!
I feel like there are infinite multiverses and thus there would inevitably be universes where No Way Home did not happen for the first two cinematic Peters.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.Something funny to think about. According to Gwen and Pav, they have apparently crashed at Hobbie's flat.
Meaning they spent time in his dystopian reality and found it fun.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Just watched it. Conflicting feelings.
It was everything the first movie was: gorgeous, fun, fast-paced, alternating between heartfelt and hilarious, well-written, blah blah. Hobie is incredible.
But the unannounced cliffhanger left a really sour taste (Cliffhangers in general do). If you want to make a two-parter, write it in the title. I understood roughly 40 minutes before the end that there was way too much for it to be solved here, and it really dropped my enthusiasm.
Not to mention that I am thoroughly unconvinced the stakes that have been raised are enough to last for 2 more hours. They were building towards a climax, and now they'll have to drop the intensity somehow because you don't last 2 hours in "the final big fight", that's not sustainable. I have serious doubts the next one will manage to last as long as this one without either suffering from story bloat due to too much filler, or from some serious pacing/consistency issues.
Because of that - I'd say The Last Wish is still clearly this year's best animated feature.

Um, but didn't The Last Wish come out last year?
Ah yes, very late 2022, but I saw it in early 2023.
Apparently the ending with Gwen forming her own splinter Spider Society was added 6 weeks before the film was finished. I say "apparently" because the relevant article is paywalled behind an Empire Magazine online subscription, which I neither have nor want.

Sheesh, talk about crunch time. I feel sorry for the animators.
That... kind of makes sense. The way the movie is presented, the scene with Alt. Prowler definitely feels like it was intended to be the final scene.
I wouldn't be surprised if the confirmation that Gwen is actively rebelling and getting the band back together to help was added after the fact to keep the ending from feeling too bleak.
It possibly being there to try to add a high note also fits for Pravitr being there, which always felt a bit off to me: the movie comes off like it wants to keep his fate in the air, for suspense purposes, maybe to follow up on in the sequel but then last scene gives us a quick "nope, don't worry, he's perfectly fine!" to put a cap on that.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Sure but you can said is a very much a recontextualization given that the first movie didnt really mind with Miles going more or less with the typical spider man routine, so it kinda hilarious that NOW it decide he dosent have to be.
Ehhh he kinda said it is too much for him leading peter dad to take kingpin with the team on their own, is later when he discover his inner valor and come later, is pretty much the whole "hero reject the call/run away, ponder what to do/come back"

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"The lesson of the first film was Miles getting his self-confidence, they tie him up in his room because when pushed, he admits he doesn't think he is ready. Then after his pep talk ith his Dad and his leap of faith, he goes for it.
I'm totally not Grant MorrisonIf anyone is on Reddit, watch out. Someone leaked the allegedly lost Spider-Verse short film "The Spider Within" via her phone and uploaded it to TikTok. But then someone else got it and uploaded it to Reddit.
What the fuck is the Spider within?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. That moment when you realize Jason Schwartzman was in TWO comic adaptations where a canon event is violated…
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Miguel in Mortal Kombat could actually work.
Here's one exchange I just came up with.
I mean, haven't lots of us found our 2023 starring as an antagonist in an animated adaptation of a comic book (that's probably better known for its live-action film directed by a a well-regarded cult director whose breakout work was a zombie) with the new animated work involving multiverses and canon events being violated?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I watched the movie a few weeks ago and I really loved it! Organic dialogue, great soundtrack, amazing cinematography, and very funny jokes. It would be one of my favorite action/comedy movies in recent memory if it weren't for the audio mixing. Maybe it was the quality of my video, but I had to rewind every couple minutes to understand any line at all in action scenes (I watched it dubbed in my language, but apparently this was a common complain among English-speakers as well). It's like serving a delicious buffet, but instead of letting the audience enjoy the taste, they just throw the meal at your face.
That said, I disagree about some complaints about it being "half a movie". I think it followed a pretty straightforward standard — there was Gwen's prologue, the introduction with Miles, the conflict with the Spot discovering his true potential, and the climax with Miles following his mother's advice and not letting anyone tell him he doesn't belong somewhere.
oh hey how are you doing? You're right, it's not half a movie. It's 75% of a movie. The cliffhanger only bothers me because if we had another 30 minutes, the situation could all be settled. Then a third movie can deal with Miles and the Spider Society going at it.
Find the Light in the DarkWell, The Boy and the Heron beat this out for the Golden Globe.
How do we feel about its chances at the Oscars?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. The Oscars might be waiting for the second part to come out first, so I think The Boy and The Heron has more chances.
oh hey how are you doing?I was wondering what Popsicle Spidey's canon event was and found others wondered the same thing.

The Protomen enhanced my life.
Into the Spider verse is on Disney + in the US if you have a vpn you can set your location to Canada's or the like to see it on Netflix. Of course I strongly encourage boycotting streaming services owned by major film companies due to ethical issues.
