Imma need someone to explain this one to me.
Godzilla's fight with Kong begins with Godzilla jumping off the cape of Gibraltar while Kong is chilling next to the pyramids. It basically implies those to spots are across from each other.
Am I getting my locations wrong? Also did Godzilla charge at Kong from the correct direction?
I'm looking at Google maps and yeah it just keeps bugging me.

I assumed that they significantly compressed the time it took for Godzilla to swim that distance, but there's also .

Sure but we also saw Godzilla swimming through a river. The closest river is the Nile to the east of the Pyramids.
So if I'm reading maps right, Godzilla must've jumped off the cape, swam east through the Mediterranean, swam past Kong, surfaced then ran a few miles down to the Nile, swam the Nile for a few miles, then finally surfaced again to run west towards Kong.
Except it looks like Godzilla overshot that last bit because despite the Nile being to the east, Godzilla finally confronted Kong by coming from the west.
It's like the world's most obtuse display of "a shark circling it's prey before striking".
