Mad Mad Mario is a shortform animated web series by JonnyEthco, a half of the Hank And Jed duo. It started as an internet classic in 2009, but expanded into four more episodes over time.

It's a parody of Super Mario Bros., where Mario is a hilariously over-the-top angry Italian man with a sailor's mouth.

Mad Mad Mario contains examples of:

• Adaptational Jerkass: In this series, Mario is portrayed as a cantankerous brute prone to insulting and abusing almost everyone around him.
  • Sonic isn't free from this either. Sure he calls the cops on Mario for yelling at Peach, but he isn't above "violating" her himself.
• Adaptation Deviation: In Episode 2, Mario claims that he is forced to smash blocks with his head just to get power-ups. In the games, Mario does not smash blocks with his head, he hits them with his fist.
• Animated Shock Comedy: Pretty much all of the humor in the series is derived from such typically benevolent and whimsical characters being portrayed as crass assholes and idiots.
• Adaptational Wimp: Bowser. He doesn't even try to stop Mario from saving Peach just because he's so mad. He's even left asking Mario to fight him, which he just refuses.
• Balloon Belly: Yoshi in Episode 4 after eating everything in sight... including a Toad who came to tell Mario that Peach was kidnapped again.
• Benevolent Boss: Bowser gets angry when Mario insults his minions and points out that they're just doing jobs that he gave them.
• Berserk Button: Heartwarmingly, Mario's is insulting Peach. Only he is allowed to do that.
• Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Episode 3 shows that Mario's canon personality (cheery Italian accent and all) is actually just a public cover.
  Mario: Thank you so much for-to protecting and-a serving!...THAT DAMN MOTHERFUCKER!
• Bizarrchitecture: Hilariously deconstructed in Episode 2. It opens with a Toad construction team building a level, and Mario barges in demanding to know why they design it the way they do rather than practically to make his job easier.
• Butt-Monkey: Mario himself becomes this in Episode 5, as he can't catch a break from annoying Boos or a sexually-harassing Thwomp in a haunted castle. His apology for making the Boos cry, only to have them bother him again, just sells it.
• Captain Obvious: "Wow. You're really mad..."
• Cluster F-Bomb: It seems Mario is incapable of forming a complete sentence without screaming "FUCK" at least three times.
• Crapsack World: Not abnormal for a JonnyEthco cartoon. Here, everyone seems to be either an asshole or incompetently stupid enough to deserve getting yelled at by an asshole.
• Crossover Punchline: So, who's the neighbor who called the cops on Mario? Sonic.
• Country Matters: One of the first insults Mario slings at Peach.
• Damsel in Distress: Peach. Deconstructed as Mario is sick of rescuing her.
  Mario: DO YOU GET OFF ON BEING CAPTURED?!?! YOU STUPID BITCH!!!
• Depraved Homosexual: The Thwomp from Episode 5.
• Establishing Series Moment: Mario angrily approaches Bowser as epic fight music plays. Bowser boasts about kidnapping the princess... and then Mario cuts him off, instead opting to start swearing at Peach and asking her what the fuck her problem is.
• Even Evil Has Standards: Bowser may have kidnapped Peach like he always does, but even he is shocked at Mario's rage-filled tirade. He also won't tolerate his minions being sworn at.
• Flanderization: In Episode 1, Mario was only yelling at Peach because he was getting frustrated over how many times he kept having to go through eight fucking worlds to save her all the time. But due to its success, Mario was given more situations to be angry in, which ultimately made him somehow become a domestic abuser in Episode 3 just for the sake of anger. Seemingly inverted in Episode 5, however, as he seems to have gone soft enough to apologize for going too far.
• Flowery Insults: The main appeal of the series is Mario's simple but creative insults towards people who anger him.
• Harmless Villain: Bowser gets so scared of Mario that he doesn't even try to prevent him from rescuing Peach.
• Hypocrite Has a Point: Mario is a hypocrite for fat shaming Yoshi but he's right that Yoshi is a voracious glutton that makes his rescue mission even more difficult.
• Hypocritical Humor: Mario fat shames Bowser and Yoshi, which is rich coming from him.
  • In Episode 3, Sonic calls the cops on Mario for being an abusive husband. He then bluffs about coming over to his house to rape Peach in front of him.
• Informed Deformity: Mario defenselessly justifies Peach having big ass as being a thyroid problem, but she doesn't seem to actually be overweight.
• Jerkass: Mario is viciously vehement and insulting to every single person he comes across in the series except the cops in Episode 3, but goddamn, is it hilarious.
• Jerkass Has a Point: Mario may be an angry asshole, but he mostly only yells at people who are actively making his life harder. His yelling at Peach in Episode 1 is indicative of many fans' questions as to why a princess of all people doesn't have better security after so many kidnappings. Then there's the level designers designing levels for him to go through in Episode 2, and the Boos messing with him and the Thwomp sexually harassing him in Episode 5, etc. Averted in Episode 3, though, where Mario is shown to be a domestic abuser trying to invoke the Marital Rape License.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Mario's Berserk Button is insulting Peach, and he instantly feels bad when he makes the Boos cry and tries to apologize.
• Money for Nothing: Discussed in Episode 2 with the coins Mario picks up.
  Level Designer: O-O-O-O-Okay, okay, w-w-what about the coins? I mean, I leave all this money around, just for you!
  Mario: If you're gonna leave me all these coins, how 'bout building... A FUCKING WALMART?!
• Morality Pet: Mario might be an asshole, and while he is as verbally abusive to Peach as he is to everyone else, it's still obvious he genuinely loves her, as seen in Episode 3 that reveals insulting her is his Berserk Button.
• The Napoleon: Mario is also still very short.
• No Indoor Voice: Mario screams every single one of his lines at the top of his lungs, except in Episode 3 (see Bitch in Sheep's Clothing).
• No Periods, Period: Averted, as Peach is apparently using this as an excuse to avoid having sex with Mario in Episode 3.
• Skewed Priorities:
  • Mario seemingly doesn't like bashing his head against blocks for mushrooms because they taste bad and don't get him high.
  • When Yoshi eats a Toad, Mario is shocked, but he seems to be more angry about Yoshi being such a giant glutton than the fact that he ate a person.
• Stealth Pun: Mario, though he isn't calm while saying it.
  Mario: You don't think I have shit to do?! I'm a god-damn plumber!
• Stockholm Syndrome: Mario asks Peach in Epiode 1 if she gets off on being captured.
• Toilet Humour: Yoshi excreting an entire mound of shit and a Koopa shell in Episode 4.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: One of these from Mario is pretty much the whole content of each episode.
• The Voiceless: Peach has no on-screen lines. Possibly justified, at least in Episode 1, as she is probably just in shock over Mario yelling at her.
• Use Your Head: Deconstructed in Episode 2, as Mario complains to the level designers for making him smash his head on floating blocks just to get power-ups.
