Skatebird is a skateboarding Video Game by Glass Bottom Games.

You are a bird owned by a skateboarder that you've named "Big Friend". Or at least he used to be a skateboarder before he gave that up. Now he's got a job that has him working at all hours, he's barely ever home, and his apartment is a mess.

You've become concerned for Big Friend. He needs to rediscover his love of skateboarding. But what's a bird to do? Why, get on your little skateboard and start shredding and grinding, of course! So that's what you're going to do. Good thing there's a lot of appropriately-sized things to double as ramps and rails!

The game was funded on Kickstarter on July 9th, 2019. It was ultimately released on September 16th, 2021.

Has no relation to the 1977 TV show Skatebirds.

Skatebird contains examples of:

  • Character Customization: You can change your bird's species, and put various hats and accessories on him. You can also change the design on the skateboard, along with the colour of the wheels.
  • Cool Board: You have a skateboard that's small enough for a bird to use.
  • One-Word Title: Skatebird, of course.
  • Pun-Based Title: Skateboard + Bird = Skatebird.
  • Skate Heaven Is a Place on Earth: Since you're a skateboarding bird, the worlds are full of things like miniature ramps made of pizza boxes and grind rails made of bendy straws and pencils on top of erasers.
  • Talking Animal: The birds in the game can talk to each other.
  • Timed Mission: Some missions in the game involve completing certain objectives before the clock reaches zero.
