Trivia / Sonic: Live in Sydney

Go To

  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Sonic is voiced by Paula Arundell, making this the second time Sonic was voiced by a female (Meg Inglima voiced Sonic in Sonic's Schoolhouse).
  • Disowned Adaptation: Sega wasn't happy with the original version, which featured walkaround versions of the characters, due to being very slow paced and extremely cheesy. They ordered Sega World Sydney to retool the show which caused them to make it a live puppet show. To this day, Sega completely ignores the existence of either show on various Sonic-related media.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Almost nothing of the first version of the show exists online, and the only CD release it got is long out of print. Though at least we have some bits from the first version, the audio of the performance and the full songs, compared to the second version of the show, which is an even more extreme case, as nothing about it seems to exist at all (at least the first one had the CD). All that's left of it are pictures, and even then, they're mostly production photos.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • The voice actors for Sonic, Sally, Tails, and Robotnik definitely aren't the voice actors from Sonic SatAM or Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Instead they're voiced by Australian voice actors (Paula Arundell as Sonic, Diane Adams as Tails, Tanya Bulmer as Sally, and Adrian Payne as Robotnik), rather than Jaleel White, Kath Soucie, Long John Baldry, or Jim Cummings.
    • The second version of the show featured a completely different voice cast from the first version. Here, Alexis Nagy voiced Sonic, Tails, and Sally, Dennis White voiced Robotnik, and Phillip Einfeld voiced Grounder (originally voiced by Garry Chalk).
