- The Other Marty: Lenny Rush was originally cast as the voice of Eric. At the read through, it was decided he was actually too good for the role. So he was offered a larger, on-screen role in another episode later on in the series. Sami Amber was then cast as the new voice of Eric.
- Reality Subtext: The Doctor's solemn admittance that the Time Lords were the victims of a genocide takes on a more personal note in the light that Ncuti Gatwa's family left Rwanda when he was little to escape exactly that.
- What Could Have Been: The original plan was for the babies to be walking around but this was ultimately deemed impractical and too effects-heavy so strollers were used instead.
- You Look Familiar: Golda Rosheuvel (Jocelyn) previously played Dr. Angela Connolly in two episodes of Torchwood.
