  • In part 1, Kyle mentions that people are only nice to Kimber's bullies because they're related to the Prescotts. How does he know this? He didn't know anything about the town's Baby Factory operation and the story never brings it up again.
    • It's a small town, everyone knows who's related to whom.
  • In part four of the original story, Jimmy Prescott pulls out a handgun when Sam is in Borrasca, but he never uses it, and it is seemingly a pointless scene.
    • In the podcast adaptation, Prescott uses the handgun to pistol whip Kyle when Clery catches him, and Prescott does this to try and beat information out of Kyle in an attempt to find out where Kimber is after the latter escaped. It's likely that Walker realized the plot hole from the original story when writing the podcast adaptation, but this hasn't been confirmed anywhere.
    • Additionally, Jimmy made it clear to Sam that he wasn't allowed to kill him because his father was the sheriff and felt it would cause too much of a scene if both his kids just randomly disappeared. He just showed it off to remind Sam who was in charge.
  • How do the Prescotts, Killian Clery, and Graham Walker all not have venereal diseases?
    • In the podcast, at least, they test the blood of the girls at the party before they kidnap them. I assume they test the blood of the girls after they've been kidnapped in the novel, and if they're positive, they have a date with the Shiny Gentleman.
  • In the first story, it is revealed that Sam's father was reassigned to Butler County for "doing something bad", and it's revealed in the sequel that he was involved in human trafficking operations at his old job. How was he not put in prison before the story began if the other police at his original job found out about this? Furthermore, how do the Walkers have a seemingly stable home life if this was found out?
    • It’s heavily implied that Graham being transferred to Butler County was a cover story, and his real intention for moving there was its human trafficking business, which had more of a stronghold due to how much the town relies on its revenue. It's not too hard to believe that an old contact set him up with Prescott and Killian, who were able to pull some strings and get him a cushy position there in exchange for his services, as well as bringing in "outsiders" to expand their "gene pool." The police from his original department were most likely paid off or chose to not to make said information public because it would be a PR nightmare.
  • Something I've always wondered. What's the point of the treehouse? I understand the point of the Triple Tree but what about the treehouse? In the podcast adaptation it's used for Borrasca parties, but what about the nosleep story?
    • It's the halfway point when the girls are being taken to Borrasca. That's why it mentions the room with the mattress and the writing on the ceiling, that's where they're first taken. From there, they're brought to the stables. This part is just hypothetical but they probably built the treehouse to also make the location less scary for the ones being taken there.
