Tropes:

  • Crazy-Prepared: Clyde has apparently read the Evil Overlord List, as he makes Flandre quadruple password protected (plus an eye-scanner), and, in case of a catastrophic meltdown/disaster, she will go into hibernation mode, and cover her processors and memory banks with armor. She ends up in a back room of the New Versailles armory in Misery Loves Company, after the 700-year-long-nuclear war.
  • Disaster Dominoes: A more serious version, in combination with Chekhov's Armory. Cornelius kidnaps baby Rosa, Rosa grows up with him and learns this, Rosa runs away and strives to kill him, Rosa teams up with Clyde, who is developing technology to shove Cornelius out of Scarlet City for good—nuclear energy, specifically. Rosa and Clyde eventually blow themselves up with Cornelius, by unbalancing the nuclear reactors Clyde has set up all around his house. This causes the entirety of Scarlet City, which had fairly bad relations with a neighboring city in another country, to be blown off the map. The country takes Scarlet City's demise as a declaration of war, bombing said neighboring country. This sets off the full-blown nuclear war seen in Misery Loves Company, and, by proxy, everything that happens there.
  • Evil Genius: Clyde's claim to fame.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: ...I think I've inserted so many Umineko: When They Cry references into my works by now this should be obvious.
"Oi, don't you recognize my name? She was a famous warrior who defended her daughter against an army with a shotgun, a pen, and a sack of gold."
  • Psychic Powers: Rosa. Of the telekinesis and teleporting variety. The latter of which she refuses to use, as her clothes don't teleport with her.
