Elixir (also - and better - known as My Sweet Insanity) is an upcoming series of novels by Fashionist State, set 20 Minutes into the Future in a Crapsack World in which a new dystopia sprouts roughly every minute. It details the adventures and downfalls of several separate and frankly deranged characters as they react to how the world progresses and/or regresses - avoiding being murdered, experimented on or exposed to crackpot conspiracy theories in the process.
The first confirmed book, The Broken Doll Incident, features the Dysfunction Junction that is the underworld of Brighton - literally underground Brighton. Roughly. Moni Wintercrest, petty thief and Mike Patton enthusiast, is out to murder Alecath, the man that lured her to this city - but she doesn't expect to be weighed down by the nice but inept Carrie Baumann, who ends up falling in love with Alecath herself. And since Alec's also a psychopathic mutant that needs blood to live (the closest this universe will come to vampires) and couldn’t care less about 'twoo wuv', may Your Omnipresent Narrator be the first to say they're an idiot. Meanwhile, an old associate of Moni's decides to go on her Roaring Rampage of Revenge and accidentally uncovers a great conspiracy...

The Broken Doll Incident provides examples of:
- Artistic License – Biology: While steps are being taken to avoid Hollywood Psych, some of the biological details might remain a tad... inaccurate. If any glaring mistakes are made that would affect the plot otherwise, expect a lot of lampshading.
- Author Appeal: Moni's obsessed with Mike Patton and the original series title is a Dog Fashion Disco reference.
- Fun with Acronyms: The Facility for Nature Of Reality-Dissection. Geddit?
- Nietzsche Wannabe: Moni, Alec, Quinn, Sophie... pretty much anyone except Carrie.
- Obfuscating Insanity: While Moni has had musical hallucinations since she arrived in the FfNORD, she doesn't visually hallucinate, or hear voices, for that matter - well, other than Mike Patton's. It kind of makes sense since musical hallucinations are generally not due to psychosis.
- Only Sane Woman: Kyra Graves.
- Our Vampires Are Different: A variation in which vampires don't exist, but the universe's mythology differs; some parts draw from earlier folklore.
- However, some people wished to change that and the Infractus was the result. While they need blood to live, they are still alive, but their blood has been modified to be insufficient - and rather than being immortal (or having an increased lifespan), their lifespan is reduced.
- Shout-Out: As Moni tosses Molotov Cocktails into Alec's house, she mutters "special delivery today" and then wonders why herself.
- "You're good and I'm bad. We're perfect for each other." (Which isn't actually a quote from the novel, but from the 2010 film.)
- Teens Are Monsters: Most of the characters are nineteen or under.
- The Blade Always Lands Pointy End In: Alec's knives always do. Something to do with particular weights of futuristic quality, maybe magnetic inside the handle. Or something.
- The Schizophrenia Conspiracy: Quinn and Sophie both fit the trope. Especially Sophie.
- You Are Number 6: Most of the characters fit here, though they're separated into three groups - A, the extremely insane, B, the kind-of-insane, and C, the initially-sane. The mutants have a 'U' added to the front of their classification - for example, 'U-43-A'.
