Xilam, a home to many cartoons en France!

Xilam Animation is a French animation studio originally based in Paris. It began life as Gaumont Multimedia, the animation division of renowned French film studio Gaumont, but in 1999, Gaumont Multimedia's head, Marc DuPontavince and his wife Alix, left Gaumont and brought out the rights to its animation division, using it to establish Xilam (although the two studios continued to collaborate until 2003). Gaumont would eventually fill the void resulting from the separation of Xilam by purchasing fellow French animation studio Alphanim in 2008 and renaming it Gaumont Animation.

Xilam is easily one of the most famous and renowned animation studios worldwide, its name almost synonymous with French animation. They are most famous for their Looney Tunes-inspired cartoons, particularly Oggy and the Cockroaches, Space Goofs, and Zig & Sharko — shows that have gone on to become international success stories and often the first thing people think of when they think of French cartoons. However, they have done a much broader variety of animations, including various Lucky Luke animated adaptations, Shuriken School (actually one of their most popular brands outside of the abovementioned Looney Tunes-inspired shows), Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life, and Mr. Magoo (2019), as well as many All CGI Cartoons, Preschool Shows, and more conventional 7-11 international fare. They even have a few animated feature films under their belt, with their very first being the 2003 CGI movie Kaena: The Prophecy.

In 2020, the studio successfully acquired roughly half of fellow French CG studio Cube Creative (of Kaeloo fame).
