Sydney Bromley, born Sidney Charles Bromley, (24 July 1909 — 14 August 1987), was a British character actor.

Starting out on stage, he notably appeared in the very first production of Saint Joan in 1924 and productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night in 1935.

1935 was the same Bromley began appearing in films, with an Uncredited Role as a rugby player in Boys Will Be Boys; until the early '60s, Bromley stuck to bit parts. In 1965, he played cattle rancher Sam Houston in Carry On Cowboy and was cast in the next Carry On film, Carry On Screaming!, as Dan Dann, only to be replaced with series regular Charles Hawtrey at the last minute.

Back on stage in the late '60s, Bromley worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company in productions of Julius Caesar and Henry VIII. He spent The '70s doing more small parts in films including Macbeth, No Sex Please - We're British, and Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell, and he dubbed voices for Jabberwocky.

Bromley's final decade working was The '80s. He made appearances in Dragonslayer, An American Werewolf in London, The NeverEnding Story (1984), and Pirates, and his final film role was in the 1987 film, Crystalstone.

He died of cancer at the age of 78.
