Percy Herbert, (31 July 1920 — 6 December 1992), was a British character actor.

Before he started acting, he was a soldier in World War II. His ship was bombed by a Japanese plane upon entry into Singapore Harbour and he was sent to Alexandria Hospital, where he was one of eleven soldiers to survive the massacre and was sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.

One of his first film roles came in The Bridge on the River Kwai as Grogan. Thanks to his first-hand experience in the war, David Lean paid Herbert an extra £5 to act as a consultant for the film. The way the prisoners whistle "The Colonel Bogey March" was all Herbert's idea.

Herbert appeared in three films in the Carry On... Series. While he went uncredited for Carry On Cleo, he played larger supporting roles in Carry On Jack as Mr. Angel, the bo'sun, and in Carry On Cowboy as Charlie, the bartender.

In 1967, he briefly went to America to play Angus MacGregor in Cimarron Strip. Following this, he returned to films, including Up the Front, One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing, The Wild Geese, and The Sea Wolves. His final film was The Love Child, released in 1987.

He died of a heart attack at the age of 72.
