  • Chapter 18: Benjen & a few other Black Brothers decide to kill the remaining coup members. When several members protest, pointing out that they took the Black, Benjen retorts by utilizing some Loophole Abuse, that they took the Black but aren't Black Brothers yet & reminds them that he may be a First Ranger of the Night's Watch, but he was a Stark first.
Ryswell Lad: Wh–What are you doing, Stark?! What nonsense is th–?!"
Benjen: "I told you. It's a shame that so many of you died while trying to escape. We really could've used more men on the Wall."
Another man: "You – You can't do this! We – We took the Black! You – You're a member of the Black! You – You can't do this!"
Benjen: "Aye, you decided to take the Black, but none of you are Black Brothers yet. And, yes, I am a man of the Night's Watch and the First Ranger to boot. But before that, I was a man of House Stark. And while I might have given up my name, I still carry the blood of the wolf in my veins. The same blood that you lot tried to end."
  • Jon's duel with Meryn Trant in chapter 19 of A Trial by Combat. It's every bit as awesome as it sounds. Jon ends up winning & Trant is removed from the Kingsguard as a result.
    • Before said duel, Jon volunteers to stand as Champion for the Crown, much to the mockery of several people in the throne room. Robert doesn't laugh at him but does acknowledge his bravery then points out that a Trial by Combat isn't for a 'greenboy'. For the first time in his life, Jon gets angry at a another being placed upon him (& one that stings more than being called a bastard) & then listed the trials & tribulations he's went through. By the time he's finished, the throne room is silent & Robert is impressed with him.
Robert: "Ah, your bastard boy. And the sorcerer's squire from what I've heard. You got a set of balls, boy, but a Trial by Combat is no place for a greenboy."
Jon: "A greenboy?" Jon wasn't sure why, but the label stung more than being called a bastard. "I killed my first man over a year ago while traveling with the Wolf Rangers to hunt down the sellswords who were plaguing the trade roads in the North. I stood with Lord Nox and other brave men and women from both the North and Dorne as he led us into the very depths of Old Valyria. I killed a dragon that'd been slumbering in Valyria since before the Doom while on foot. I fought and defeated Ser Gerald Dayne in Sunspear with nothing more than a training blade while he used live steel. And I am Lord Nox's Apprentice, your grace. Not a greenboy."
The laughter that'd been ringing through the hall was silenced yet again by the time Jon finished speaking. And without even realizing it, he'd taken a few steps closer to the king, an act which had drawn the attention of several of the Kingsguard who were now flanking the king on either side. But the king didn't seem to mind in the slightest. In fact, he had a small smile on his face as the two stared each other in the eyes.
Robert: "Gods boy, how in the Seven hells do you get through doors with balls that big?" The king laughed, slapping his thigh. "You remind me of myself when I was your age, boy. And your eyes…I see those rumors about you Starks and your wolf eyes aren't just tales. Hmm. Ned, he's your son. But I say let him fight."
  • Jon finally being legitimatized as a Stark. Awesome Moment of Crowning it may not be, but Awesome Moment of legitimization works too & Jon does sure deserve it.
Jon: All his life, there was one thing he ever wanted. And now, he had that one thing. To be recognized as a Stark. A true Stark.
  • Davos saving Loras from being killed after the latter attempted a Leeroy Jenkins by knocking him out in a surprising display of movement from a man of his age.
  • Nox's word game with Varys regarding the Game of Thrones, which Nox regards as child's play. It's enough to impress & unnerve the normally unflappable Varys, who himself mostly keeps his composure.
  • Ned putting Hoster Tully in his place in Chapter 21. After the latter insults Jon, then he demands that he fosters Sansa & Arya in Riverrun in the hopes of making them into proper Ladies of the Realm, especially Arya, stating that he wouldn't hesitate to physically discipline them if necessary. All of it without Ned's consent. Furious with his good-father, Ned wrecks the man's solar, crashing it upon Hoster, then giving him a "The Reason You Suck" Speech, pointedly not acknowledging his Lordly title.
Ned: There was a time when you frightened me, Lord Tully. But no longer. You are not a man to be feared, but a snivelling coward who thinks he knows what's best for everyone and damns anyone else's opinion. I married your daughter to honor the agreement between our Houses and to gain the allegiance of the Riverlands against the Mad King. An allegiance you held hostage pending on not only my own marriage, but on the marriage of you second daughter to Jon Arryn as well. Even if I did not know or even love Cat when I married her, love did eventually come between us despite our disagreements. And it is only because of the love I hold for your daughter and the fact that my children share blood with you that I shall take this no further unless you press the issue.
Hoster: Those girls are of House Tully! And in the name of the Seven, I will see them raised as is proper just like their mother would have want-
Ned: You have no idea what Cat would want for her girls, Hoster. Sansa and Arya may be of House Tully. But they are firstly of House Stark. They are wolves of the North. And when the cold winds blow and the snow rise, the pack weathers what storms may come and survives. You'd best remember that Hoster. For winter is coming. And only a fool makes enemies of family when it arrives.
    • Later on in the same chapter, Walder Frey, who stupidly runs his mouth one too many times, gets put in his place by Nox as the old, shrivelled worm that he is. Reading the scene is nothing short of cathartic for those who absolutely loath the man.
Walder: Heh, you can never have too many children, Stark. There's nothing sweeter than a young flowers honey to have all to yourself… And unlike some women, a Frey girl knows her duty in carrying a son to birth.
Jon, Robb, Ned, and the Greatjon all involuntarily took a step away from him as the temperature in the room plummeted. At the high table, the young Lady Frey suddenly started shaking while Ser Stevron started blowing into his hand, wondering how and why he could suddenly see his breath in the air. And Walder, the old fool was helpless to do anything but stare at Nox as he calmly and slowly took a few steps towards the Lord of the Crossing. With a calmness that surprised even himself, Nox focused his full attention on the old fool who was clearly doing everything in his power not to piss himself.
Nox: I do hope, Walder Frey, that your words were merely just a slip of the tongue and not an intentional slight against my wife who lost our child after being stabbed in the womb by a man who sided with traitors and broke the laws of gods and men.
Walder, showing an incredible lack of self-preservation, merely snorted.
Walder: Recent events speak for themselves, sorcerer. Though, what more could you expect after marrying a low-born whor—?
Nox moved without thought, his right hand rising in the blink of an eye as the small coin purse he kept on his waist was shredded as the coins within tore themselves free on his command. The gold flew faster than the eye could follow, crossing the distance of the hall in less than a fraction of a second. The silver cup in Walder's hand shattered and several strands of his hair fell listlessly to the ground as five gold coins cut through both as if neither was there before embedding themselves into the back of Walder Frey's chair.
Lowering his arm, Nox slowly approached the high table. The Lady Frey was cowering against the arm of her chair, making herself as small as she could while simultaneously trying to put as much distance between herself and her husband as possible. Ser Stevron Frey had knocked his chair back, his hand on the hilt of the short sword at his waist. But unfortunately for the heir to the Twins, he was unable to draw the blade no matter how hard he tried as Nox kept the blade within its sheath with only minimal effort on his part. And as for Walder, the Lord of the Crossing was frozen stiff in fear as Nox poured a constant stream of the dark side of the Force off himself and into the old man.
Reaching the high table, Nox increased the flow of the dark side within him, making Lord Frey break out into a cold sweat and for the Lady Frey to faint in her seat.
Nox (In Tranquil Fury): We came here to pass your bridge and head home, yet you impeded our path. Hoping to use the death of your traitorous son to induce a sense of guilt within us and then leverage our desire to return in order to expand your own feeble concept of power by tying your House to House Stark through marriage. Lord Eddard heard your proposal, and politely denied the immediate request. Far politer than he should have in my opinion. But you took it as a slight. And then you lashed out and insulted my wife. I have killed greater than you for far less.
Pausing, Nox raised his hand, finger extended towards the man's racing heart.
Nox: It would be so easy. An old man like you. Your heart is on its last leg as it is. A simple touch with the Force, and your heart would falter and fail. Leaving you to suffer in agony as you clutched at your chest, begging for one more moment of life.
The unmistakable smell of urine permeated the air as the Lord of the Crossing lost control of his bladder, the sight and smell bringing a smile to Nox's face.
Nox: But, lucky for you, I don't feel like dealing with the fallout your death would no doubt cause. Even if killing every Frey within this castle would be easier than my morning exercises. So, this is what is going to happen. Embedded in your chair are five gold coins. That is your toll, Lord Walder and allow us passage across the Twins. Should you, or any of yours feel the need to impede us further, then I will sink the Twins into the Green Fork with every Frey still trapped within its walls. Do we have an understanding, my Lord? Good.
Turning on his heel, Nox didn't wait to hear the response from the Lord of the Crossing as he used the Force to throw the doors to the hall open, allowing him to march out.
  • Robert gets a few in Chapter 25: First, upon seeing Tommen's fawn, Ser Prance being mutilated by Joffrey's lion, Pride, finally realizes how neglectful he's been towards Myrcella & Tommen, resolves to be a batter parent to them. Then, he storms up to Joffrey's chambers & stabs Pride through the heart with Dragon's Bane. Robert then smacks Joffrey (After he tried to charge at Robert with a whipping stick in hand!) & warns him & Cersei that if Joffrey so much as breath the wrong way, it's a one way ticket to the Wall. For those who despise Joffrey & Cersei. It's a must read.
  • Chapter 25: Nox unleashing a Force Storm against Crowkiller, Weeper, Harma, Rattleshirt & their forces. It is nothing short of a deathtrap that tears the approaching army to shreds. Everyone else can only watch in a mixture of shock, awe & terror.
    • Robb blowing the Horn of Winter, causing an avalanche that devastates the enemy army.
  • Gendry managing to reforge Valyrian Steel! The first one created since the fall of the Valyrian Empire. Even Stannis is speechless.
  • Daenerys becoming more assertive & confident before her storyline in canon started. Where to start? After learning more about her family's history, she firmly believes that her brother's dream of reclaiming the Throne is nothing more than a dream. Thanks to Jon & later Nox's tutelage, she ends up starting to use the Force proficiently, warding off multiple attackers (though she didn't kill anyone) & suggesting to Viserys to tell her where they're going next, persuading Illyrio Mopatis to give her Dorea's debt contract & then destroying it. Upon meeting Khal Drogo, she stands tall & proud & makes it very clear that she won't be pushed around & Force chokes one of his blood riders when he insults her, greatly impressing Drogo. Oh, and the kicker? She has four dragon eggs now.
    • Drogo gets one as well. Daenerys insists on him passing her Engagement Challenge in order to prove his worthiness to marry a daughter of Valyria. The challenge being to discreetly kill a Pentosi magistrate and bring her the head. Drogo passes with flying colors.
Daenerys: A day's ride south of Pentos, there is a manse under the control of one Magister Rabier. The challenge for my hand, Khal Drogo, is thus. You will prove your skill as a warrior by assaulting the manse with only yourself and your bloodriders. You will prove your cunning by making sure that your actions will not be known beyond those of us here. You will show your control, both over yourself and those you command, by leaving those who do not fight against you untouched by blade or flesh. And you will prove your desire to be my husband, by placing the head of Magister Idol Rabier at my feet.
  • Jon's rematch with Gerold Dayne in Chapter 32 is nothing short of a Curb-Stomp Battle for the former, even without the use of his Lightsaber. Jon himself is mildly surprised with how much he's improved.
    • Prior to this, Jon mentions that he's been able to start pressuring Nox in sparing.
  • Chapter 32: Daenerys putting Jorah Mormont through a Secret Test of Character to determine his honesty by asking him if he found honor & satisfaction in serving her father, the Mad King. When Jorah fails by lying to her face, Dany reveals the ruse & warns Jorah that she won't tolerate dishonesty & false platitudes from him again, least he finds himself not on her side.
  • A reiteration of this classic scene:
Daenerys: Tell the column to stop.
Jorah: You want the entire horde to stop? For how long?
Daenerys: Till I command them to continue.
Jorah: Now you're sounding like a queen.
Daenerys: Not a queen, Ser Jorah. A khaleesi.
  • After several failing attempts during her sword fighting lessons with Drogo, Dany, angry & humiliated at not being taken seriously lashes out with the Force...only for Drogo, who crossed his arms over his face & took the attack head on. The only indication he was affected at all was the drag marks made by his boots. Impressed with her ferocity, Drogo finds Dany a teacher in the ways of the blade. Apparently, Drogo pulled a Secret Test of Character on her.
  • Dany's brief sparing with Rakharo.
  • Daenerys fully standing up to her brother and proving that she Took a Level in Badass by Force Choking him & giving him "The Reason You Suck" Speech. By the end of it Viserys' expression is one of fear. Oh & she instructs Irri to take his horse away as having him walk on foot would teach him some manners.
Daenerys: "You are my brother, Viserys, and I can forgive much regarding your transgressions. But remember, I am now Khaleesi to Khal Drogo. His people are my people, and they are not as forgiving as I. Continue abusing your privilege as a guest amongst my people, brother, and not even I will be able to save you from the repercussions of your actions. Irri. Take my brother's horse. Perhaps some time on foot will teach my brother some manners."
    Irri': "For how long, Khaleesi?"
Daenerys: "Until I feel that he has learned his lesson."
  • Arianne taking charge in the ruling of Gerold Dayne. And she passes with flying colors.
    • Then Arianne taking charge of her future, impressing Doran.
Doran: After Gerold Dayne had been escorted out of the hall, Doran had expected his daughter to dismiss the court, but she surprised him. In a move that made him realize his daughter was truly learning how to play the game, she loudly and clearly announced to all those present that Jon Stark, son of Lord Eddard Stark and Apprentice to the Northern Sorcerer, Lord Alim Nox, was as of this day her betrothed and the future Prince Consort of Dorne. And that any action taken against the future Prince Consort or their shared paramour, Ygritte of the Free Folk, would be treated as if they were acts taken against House Martell. While many would think that her words were a warning to any of Dorne who might take issue with the betrothal, Doran knew exactly who she was speaking too. Himself. Arianne had just loudly, and publicly, declared Jon and Ygritte to be part of House Martell. They were family. And family did not put family in danger.
  • Chapter 33: Upon meeting Talisa's father, Malaquo Maegyr, the latter questions Robb on marrying his daughter without his say so. Though initially intimidated by him, Robb defends himself and Talisa well enough to earn some approval from Malaquo.
  • After Viserys struck Doreah, Daenerys personally whips Viserys six times for his crime. Though a part of her wants to stop, she keeps on going.
    • And just before that she gives this speech:
Dany: "When I took Doreah, Irri, and Jhiqui as my handmaidens, I declared that any action taken against them would be considered an action taken against myself. This was not made in jest. And not even my brother was exempt from my words. My brother struck what is mine six times. Therefore, he shall be struck six times in return."
  • Chapter 34: Val standing her ground against Robert who is the King, calling him a Southern King when he calls her the wildling Lady Ned tamed enough to turn into a Lady of the Realm. When Ser Boros Blount of the Kingsguard threatens Val for not showing proper respect to the king, Val merely gives him a dismissive glance and then listing all the problems with his stance and saying that she could easily kill him before he tried anything. Ned, who spared against Val can attest to that.
Ser Boros Blount: "You will address the King as 'King Robert' or 'his grace'! Or you will find yourself short a head, heathen!"
Val: "Better than you have tried. Your stance is shite. Your grip is too tight. And I doubt you can see anything through dat fancy bucket yer wearing on your head. I'd have ya on the ground and run through with yer own sword before ye could even blink if you tried to take my head."
Ned: Her threat was not idle. During her time with him learning how to rule as a Lady, Ned had faced off against her in the yard on more than one occasion. And while he had bested her more often than not, she had gotten the better of him several times. If he was pressed, he would say that there were only four, perhaps five in the entire realm that could best her. And this Kingsguard, whoever he was, was certainly not amongst that number.
  • Robert approves of her, particularly after he hears the story of how she sent a messenger away to his Lord for thinking themselves superior to her. He also shows of his natural charisma by nearly winning Val over as a friend.
  • Chapter 35: Dany deciding to change the Dothraki in the aftermath of a raid on a small village. How does she start this? She stops Mago from taking a girl as his spoils and telling him that he wants to mount her, he would wed her. When he asks why and that he wouldn't do such a things she says this.
Dany: "Then you will not be mounting her. Let the rest of the khalasar know this. As khalessi to Khal Drogo, I hereby claim all the daughters taken during our raids. If a rider intends to mount a daughter under my claim, he must wed her first. Or if you are so weak willed that you cannot even keep your cock in your pants at the sight of a pretty girl…then I will have your cock removed."
    • An outraged Mago gives Dany a Death Glare, which would've affected her before but not now, then he storms off, leaving the girl behind, who is very grateful to Dany.
  • When Mago delivers a distorted truth of the event to Drogo, Dany responds that she took the women under her protection. And amused Drogo points out that this is their people's way. Dany retorts that if the rider wants a girl, then he would wed her but if the rider is so weak that he cannot control his sexual desires beforehand, then he would be castrated. Mago voices his displeasure only for Dany for pin him in place with the Force. She then delivers this line:
Dany: "I am the Khaleesi of Khal Drogo. And this khalasaar, which you are a part of, will follow my orders."
    • A mighty pleased Drogo then grants Dany's request.
  • Drogo killing Mago for insulting Dany. The fight is as epic as it was on the show.
Drogo: "I will not have your body burned. I will not give you that honor. No. I will leave your corpse to rot on the ground."
  • Joffrey tries to humiliate Sansa by ordering her to heal the Hound's facial scars in front of the entire court at Harrenhal, thinking she won't be able to do it. Sansa, insulted by the affront to her abilities, agrees to do so. She naturally succeeds, which only boosts her reputation and humiliating Joffrey in the process.
    • Sansa refusing to show any weakness at all after the exhaustion the healing had set on her.
  • Talisa immediately diffuses a volatile situation (Started by the Septon) by telling Robb to not go for the low-hanging fruit by giving the Septon what he wants, that Robb is better than this and the man, the good man that she knows that he is.
    • Robb, though still incensed, calms down at his wife's words. Instead, he cleans his hand on the Septon's robes (which was covered in shit) and gives a curt but clear warning to him.
Robb: "Say what you will about myself…but insult my wife again and I will take this matter before the King," Robb said calmly, far calmer than he'd thought possible considering how furious he was at the man. "And should the King hear of your actions…I promise you…you will face Northern justice."
    • Robb turns his back, which he admits is one of the hardest things he's ever done but he knew that right then, it was the right thing to do, since he earned the respect and awe of most of the smallfolk present. And the Septon himself is left a spluttering mess at the end.
  • Lady Nox deftly defusing after Robb thoughtlessly says that the Force Trials are dangerous to the Robert, Tywin and Gerion.
Nyra: "My husband may be many things your grace, my Lords. But he is not a cruel nor wasteful man. And he cares for his Acolytes as much as any parent would care for their children. He would not put anyone on the path to their Trials if he did not believe they could succeed. Lord Stark's daughters, Lord Gerion's daughter, his grace's niece and…and his grace's bastard son will return. And they will return as full Force Apprentices. We need only wait."
  • Tywin has a moment, who doesn't mind being left out of the hunt the King invited the others to go to, but what sells the moment is is his stoicism, which can't be read at all even in the Force. Robb finally understands why his father is wary of Tywin.
Robb: Though honestly the man could probably give even Robb's own father lessons on impersonating a stone for all the emotions he was giving off. Both on his face and through the Force. Gods. The only other man Robb had ever met that had such control over himself was Lord Nox! If Robb didn't already know from his father to be wary of Lord Tywin, he knew it now.
  • Though Daenerys is initially devastated at her husband, Drogo's death, she recovers her resolve very quickly, vowing to continue their dream.
Dany: 'No. No. This is not the end. I will not let it be the end! I will rebuild what was lost…what was taken from me! I will not let my dream…our dream…die with you, my sun and stars. I will rebuild that which was lost! By blood and fire…I will reclaim that which was lost!'
    • Rakharo is the only one of Dany's bloodriders who survived as many others from the khalasar sought to bring her back to Vaes Dothrak as Dosh Khaleen, despite Dany still being on the birthing bed at the time.
    • Ser Jorah felled twice the number as Rakharo in his defense of Daenerys and the khalakka.
    • When Daenerys asks Ser Jorah and Rakharo what they desire for serving while they were at their weakest, both men merely ask to serve at her side, wherever she goes.
  • Mirri Maz Duur gets two moments as she speaks the common tongue, which surprises Dany and resisting Dany's Force Probing, having practiced the mystic arts before Dany was born.
  • The Red Comet passing by: It's a Force Nexus of both Light and Dark and it brings more questions.
'''Nox"': Nox wasn't sure just what exactly this comment was…but there was one thing for certain. It was heavily laden with the Force. Just like Korriban and Tython only…condensed. Like both planets had been compressed down into this single comet that was passing so close to this planet that it was clearly visible from the ground. The comet, or asteroid he couldn't truly tell, was a honest Force nexus of both dark side and light side Force energies. And it was so…potent. Nox almost felt like his own connection to the Force was…deepening just from being on the surface of this planet as it passed them by. Was…Was this the reason for this planet's unusual connection to the Force? Or was the Force nexus drawn to this world? Or both? And as the Red Comet passed them by, Nox realized once again, that the more he learned of this world…the more questions he had.
  • Jon and Dany hatching their dragons. Though in Dany's case, it's only one this time.
  • Chapter 36: Tyrion saving Robb from Joffrey's Kangaroo Court simply by showing up. It's a reenactment of Tyrion saving Sansa from Joffrey in Garden of Bones. Though Bronn isn't present, it's nonetheless glorious.
    • While it's not said explicitly, it's heavily implied that Robb would've been able to fight his way out the mess if he was found 'guilty'.
  • Tyrion expertly diffusing the votalie situation that would've erupted between the Crown and the North, following Joffrey's idiocy.
    • Robb picking up on Tyrion and Tywin's double speak.
Robb: He could now piece together just what Tyrion, and now Tywin, were trying to do. They were not trying to save Robb. If he was anyone other than the Heir to Winterfell he doubted either man would care and he would be short a head or stretching by a rope. No. They were trying to give the Crown Prince a route to escape from the mess he'd created while not souring relations between the North and the Crown, and by extension House Lannister. So…this is the Great Game my father and Lord Nox talk about the nobles playing. Gods, no wonder father swears off of this shite.
  • Daenerys giving a Rousing Speech to her remaining followers to what their next steps will be.
Daenerys: "My Sun and Stars, Khal Drogo, and I had a vision of the future. One where the Dothraki were no longer looked down upon as simple raiders. We were to forge a new Valyria. And our son, he who will mount the world, would lead this great empire. But now, through treachery and deceit, my husband is dead. But our vision is not. Our son, the son of Khal Drogo, still draws breath. And as long as I still have strength in my body, I will see to it that my Sun and Star's vision comes true! I will not simply return to Vaes Dothrak and become Dosh Khaleen and fade into obscurity. I will ride. I will conquer. And I will forge a new empire here in Essos for my son! The son of Khal Drogo! The stallion who will mount the world! Some of you may not agree, and I understand. If you wish to leave, you may do so now and I will not judge. But for those who stay, I promise you a place by my side from here until my final day. Make your choice. For I have made mine."
    • None of Dany's remaining followers decide to leave her side.
  • Nox makes a bet with Robert over who's going to win the melee and predicts who's going to be eliminated and who's going to win. He ends up winning the bet.
  • Osha participating in the melee part of the tournament. She does very well for herself, managing to win the first bout alongside Garlan. She ends up making it to the finals, where she was eliminated by Ser Barristan.
  • Jamie faces off against Garlan and Loras in the finals of the melee. Had Jamie either brother one-on-one, he would've won, but against both both brothers? he never stood a chance.
  • Barristan shows why he's one of the best knights to live as he easily parries every attack Osha throws at him. The fight between the two ended when once Barristan managed to trap her spear against his body and bring his sword down on the shaft, breaking the spear in two, Osha immediately called it quits. Then he faces Garlan Tyrell, who got some actual battlefield experience but does little overall against the more experienced knight, who toys with him before disarming him and landing a 'killing' blow in the space of time it took most to blink. Against Brienne, he fights her through attrition, after he paced himself since the first bout to the finals and defeats her once she overextends herself slightly, giving Barristan the opportunity to disarm her. Thus, Ser Barristan the Bold wins the Melee.
  • Brienne of Tarth managing to come second place in the melee overall. She first eliminates Sandor Clegane, who she had on the defense and pushes him back to the edge of the ring, then when Sandor takes a look at his surroundings, Brienne capitalizes and disarms Sandor and holds him at swordpoint. Then she eliminates Loras partly by using her size to her advantage, then after losing her sword, physically wrestles Loras to the ground and holding him at knifepoint. She holds herself well against Ser Barristan, only losing due to the latter's experience, that she didn't pace herself and made the slightest error in overextending her blade.
  • When Brienne removes her helmet and reveals herself to the crowd, Robert, though stunned for a moment starts laughing and expresses his joy that Stormlander women are just as strong as Northern women. He then invites Brienne to sit at the high table tonight, saying that she did her father, House and the Stormlands proud. Considering how misogynistic and sexist Westerosi society is, Robert's acceptance of Brienne is quite astounding,
  • Arya jumps righting into the Tournament arena to protect Ser Loras from The Mountain, showcasing her Saberstaff as she sliced off parts of the Mountain's massive sword before laying him flat with a Force Push.
    • When she freezes up, Sandor comes in and protects the both of them.
  • Chapter 37: While Bran is far behind his siblings in lightsaber, he more than makes up for it in being way ahead of them in Force abilities.
Arya: But while he might not ever be a warrior, his ability with the Force was almost frightening. He just… understood almost every lesson Master Nox taught them no matter how hard she, or any of the others, found it. Honestly, if he just gave up on this silly idea of his becoming the next Master Nox with the blade and instead focused on his Force studies… Well, he could become the next Master Nox with the Force!
  • Tommen gets a few moments for himself: When he asks Arya to train him the same way she's training Bran, Arya does so, expecting Tommen to be spoiled like Joffrey. She ends up grudgingly eating her own words, when their training session reaches midday and Tommen who's being trained as hard as Bran didn't complain or threw a tantrum. When he fell, he simply got back up and tried again, picking up right where he failed.
  • Tommen stands up to Joffrey when he insults Arya and the Starks as a whole, retorting that Joffrey himself froze in fear the moment Gregor Clegane killed his horse, before Arya even tried intervening. Although stunned momentarily, Joffrey sneers and threatens to teach his brother a lesson, reminding him that lions eat fawns. Then Tommen punches Joffrey straight in the eye.
Tommen, the young Prince was standing tall, his fists raised and ready to fight. Just as Arya had been teaching him not just a few moments ago.
  • Myrcella gets a moment when she stands up and purposefully places herself between Joffrey and the others.
  • Sandor stops Joffrey from drawing his sword against Tommen. When Ser Blount draws his sword against Sandor for laying a hand on the Crown Prince, Sandor points out that he's following the King's orders, who told the Kingsguard to make sure that Joffrey doesn't do anything foolish. So why did Sandor step in when Blount was supposed to?
    • When Joffrey threatens to tell his mother about the incident, Sandor calmly tells him that he'd ought to be more worried about Robert will do when he finds out about Joffrey drawing live steel on his siblings and the youngest Stark children. That got Joffrey to shut up.
  • Daenerys destroys the Undying in Chapter 39 and rescues Rhaego and Droga.
  • As much as everything goes to the hells in Chapter 41, it still has its share of awesome moments.
    • Though Ned is still betrayed in the throne room as in canon, his latent Force powers allow him to put up a much better showing in comparison. He knocks Jaime Lannister flat with a Force-enhanced palm strike, which is delivered with enough force to leave a dent in his armor, whilst simultaneously stealing the man's own Valyrian steel sword and then kills two men despite having been knifed in the back by Baelish before getting clubbed unconscious.
    • In the Tower of the Hand, Jory Cassel and the remaining Stark guardsmen all opt to stay behind and face the enemy in order to give Nyra, Osha, Sansa, and Arya enough time to escape the Red Keep. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the men of the North prove that Nox's training has paid off and kill over half the opposition and Jory himself ends up matching Ser Jaime Lannister himself to the point where Jaime concedes it as a duel to the death where he actually could die. Though true victory is snatched when Jory is speared from behind by a Lannister man, the dying captain gets the last laugh by igniting a cache of wildfire mixed with gunpowder as a final trap, blowing the entire Tower to rubble and nearly taking Jaime with him.
    • Ser Barristan also gets one when he resigns from the Kingsguard rather than let them kick him out; though he doesn't draw his sword and boast of being able to kill every armed man in the room easier than breathing, he gets them back by pointing out that they are replacing him with a man who killed the previous king he served and remarks on how long it will take before history repeats itself. This, combined with Ned's above moment, has such an effect on Joffrey that he doesn't appoint Jaime as his Lord Commander until he actually proves himself, sowing the seeds of doubt, distrust and discord early on.
    • Nyra, Sansa, Arya, Osha and Jeyne manage to slip out of the city in a wagon only to be stopped and discovered by a party of Lannister men led by the Hound, who is quickly convinced to defect thanks to Sansa having healed his burn scars at Harrenhal. All the Lannister soldiers are easily slaughtered, with Sansa and Arya finally putting their new lightsabers to use in defending themselves and their allies.
