* ''WebAnimation/RevengeFilms'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asUVEDC8cFQ "I hated the new year's holiday but..."]] is, as the title says, set during the New Years holiday. However, Ali hated it because she and her mom had to go to her grandparents' house five days in advance to prepare the feast for the whole family (which were mostly men), neglecting sleep in the process. Moreover, Ali had to help despite being a child and watch over the younger kids at the party, which also stressed her out. Moreover, Ali's father even took advantage of his poor wife's condition to cheat on her and eventually divorced her. However, things change for the better after the bastard divorces her, as they no longer have to slave for his family at the party and he at least had the decency to pay damages.

* ''Series/MidsomerMurders'': In "[[Recap/MidsomerMurdersS7E7 Ghosts of Christmas Past]]" though the family come together for Christmas it's very apparent that most of them essentially just grin and bear it in part due to the memories of Ferdy's suicide and in part because Jennifer is insufferable, one even confiding in the newcomer that the red wine is how she gets through it. And this is before ''people'' start dying.

* Thanksgiving is a frequent target of ''Series/{{Friends}}'' episodes, including one in which they all shared their worst Thanksgiving memories. Some of these include losing body parts. Chandler in particular hates Thanksgiving because they remind him of how his parents told him they were divorcing over Thanksgiving dinner and how they screwed up his childhood. It gets so bad that the other friends have to prepare non-Thanksgiving food for him.

* ''Series/{{Seinfeld}}'': George's father made up a holiday of his own, Festivus, specifically to be this. To be more specific, it's the kind of holiday only a cantankerous asshole like Frank would enjoy with such rituals as the "Airing of Grievances" (Frank berates everyone for hours on end) and "Feats of Strength" (Frank wrestles George to the ground while humiliating him in front of others).
