openWhere do fanfics made in 2024 go?
I'm asking because I'm seeing the Fanfics of 2010–2011 page onwards are pages created for fanfics created between a range of two years. Does that mean that we have to wait for next year in order to add fanfics made in 2024 (for a "Fanfics of 2024-2025" page), or can a page for 2024 fanfics be created in the meantime?
openNeed some help
Trying to set up a page for my show... but ran into some difficulties and I am admittedly new at this. Mind a little help to figure out what I'm doing wrong here?

openPastamonsters ghost indexing
I see that Pastamonsters The Under Rhelm, Pastamonsters The Pit and Pastamonsters The Human World are index by Pastamonsters, despite that page not having them, how?
Also I've noticed Pastamonsters Beings Of The Universe, Pastamonsters Dark World Inhabitants, Pastamonsters Pastamonsters The Final Season, Pastamonsters: President Bush and Other Associates, Pastamonsters The Malitch Empire, which are unindexed and probably needs to be merged with parent page too.
openZalgo on TvTropes and quotes.
From my understanding, Zalgo is disallowed on TV Tropes, but what if you are quoting text that uses Zalgo for effect? In particular, I am thinking of this skit from Overly Sarcastic Productions.
Remove the Zalgo, and it's no longer getting the impression they were going for across.
Edited by TheharboopenInconsistency in page titles for a video game series. Videogame
Cross posting with the games' Discussion Page and forum thread but posting it here since no one pays attention to those pages.
Basically, the Super Robot Wars pages are inconsistent on whether or not they use the "expanded" titles for their games or not. For example, we have a page for Super Robot Wars Advance, even though Super Robot Wars A is what other sites use and it's what the art on our page uses. This is admittedly an extreme case since the Updated Re-release was on the PSP and it was very explicitly A and not Advance there, but it's equally true for Super Robot Wars Judgment which is usually referred to as Super Robot Wars J. We don't even have it as a redirect. The same is true for a bunch of other games in the series.
And then we have Super Robot Wars V, but no Super Robot Wars Voyage.
Given that the expanded titles aren't really part of the game or packaging or anything as far as I can tell (I'd say it's All There in the Manual but the games I own where this applies do not have manuals) I'd like to move all the pages to their shortened versions and turned the expanded versions into redirects.
Edited by LarkmarnopenYMMV trope question? Film
Discovered this for Ymmv from the film Pig (2021), as seen here (click here):
- Award Snub: Academy Award buzz was high for Cage's performance, and the film in general. Suffice to say many were surprised and quite annoyed when the film received zero nominations.
openLaunching Nonstandard Tropes
Is it possible to launch YMMV/Trivia tropes? All of the tropes I see being launched are standard objective ones. If so, how would I go about it?
openEdit war (?) on YMMV.Hilda Western Animation
I think there is a possible edit war on YMMV.Hilda.
Back in December 11, 2023, Nic Master Trope added a Base-Breaking Character entry covering Anders from S3, which I then deleted since it violates No Recent Examples, Please! (as it had only been a couple of days after the season aired (december 7) and examples require a six month waiting period after the work/season's release). However, on April 29, 2024, Nic Master Troper re-added and expanded the example, once again violating No Recent Examples, Please! (waiting period for S3 examples is not over til June 7) and ignoring the commented out saying not to put such examples until the waiting period is up.
I am taking it here, because I want to avoid an edit war and the user has now violated No Recent Examples, Please! twice.

I want to add another example to Nightmare Fuel, on Serina.
Edited by robo22openVA citation Videogame
A few hours ago, Datriel 917 removed Copy the Code's English voice actress (Rebecca Wang) from her folder on Neptunia - Antagonists, citing that there must be an official confirmation from the VA. I don't buy it, since Excessive-Menace (the OP who added the ENG VA) put out an external link from Wang's Twitter post confirming such. This feels like an unnecessary edit if you ask me.
Edit: spelling fix
Edited by ToonAbbyopenShould we have a trope for this? Web Original
A lot of new Web Animations added here are one-shot manga anthologies featuring the same main characters in different situations. I'm talking AoHaru Manga Library, Manga Soprano, ATTAC Kon MIKA, things like that. If Object Shows already has its own page with a list of examples, why shouldn't these manga anthologies get one?
Edited by Eris250openTrying to fact-check an entry that might need to be removed
So, the page for South Park Imaginationland has a list of characters from other works who appear in Imaginationland. On this list is an entry for Pat the Hammer from Handy Manny.
The thing is, while there is an Animate Inanimate Object hammer seen in Imaginationland, it doesn't look like Pat (who has a fairly distinctive blue color scheme), and its voice doesn't sound like Pat's either. Is there any official source that says this random hammer is actually supposed to be Pat, or is that entry on the list just some troper's random theory that they proclaimed as gospel?
openTons of appearances in an infobox question Print Comic
Characters.Green Arrow Speedy has a 'first appearance' list for the characters, which is fine, but then it goes into every comic they ever appeared in whether they have trope pages or not. Roy's portion is really long; should it and similar parts be trimmed, cut, or left alone?
openHindsight misuse or not, needs prediction?
YMMV.My Little Pony Nakama Is Magic
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Tama in the English dub of One Piece calls Luffy "Big Bro Luffy", just like Spike.
I PM'd the troper who added it that Hindsight only applies to/goes under the earlier work made this, not causing it. They replied that this fic came out before that point in the dub so not misuse, the replied separately that they realized it's misuse as Hindsight requires it be a prediction.
This is the first I've heard of the prediction criteria, does it require that? And is this a valid Hindsight example or not?
openUnmarked spoiler removal for Walking Spoiler in Characters. The Amazing Digital Circus Players Web Original
Recently, LCJ has removed the unmarked spoiler warning of Kaufmo's folder (a Walking Spoiler) in Characters. The Amazing Digital Circus Players and inserted a bunch of spoiler tags without elaborating why they did it.
I'm soliciting a mod to revert this huge change, because as well as the lack of reason, it's clear that Kaufmo's folder is better off with unmarked spoilers due to a large majority of the tropes listed in it addressing spoilers from the work, not to mention that thus far, there's been only one more edit (on Ragatha's folder) after the removal that I can easily restore following the reversal.
Edited by Inky100openUse of gendered character trope names
I might need a refresher on the rules about the gendered versions of character tropes and a link towards any official place on which they are spelled out.
My current understanding is that we always use the official title in example lists and only adapt to the character's gender if the trope name is used within example text. If that understanding is correct, someone editing the same pages as me might need a PM linking to a on official-ish place where the rules is spelled out. If I'm wrong, I need to change my own behavior.
Edited by NazetrimeopenEdit war on "Deadpool and Wolverine"
On YMMV.Deadpool And Wolverine, bud0011 added this example on April 24, 2024:
- Crosses the Line Twice: Giant Man's Skull being used as a base on its own works as Body Horror, but if you combine it with Paul Rudd's memetic The Ageless-ness, it becomes Black Comedy that something eventually did him in.
I removed it a few days later, citing discussion here.
On May 12, bud0011 readded it, unchanged, with the edit reason being a link to a clip from the movie of Deadpool essentially making the same joke.
While I do believe the example could now stay if rewritten to be about Deadpool's quip and not a version of Fridge Brilliance, it's still an edit war, as it appears to have been readded without discussion.
