The holy light from Lucille restores Fury to normal (it is not shown if the other wooden statues were restored as well). Sekai happily runs up and tries to hug her, but she shoves him back. She asks what is happening to Lucille. Otomi says she has heard of this. This is Princess Prayer, only available to women destined to rule the land. Lucille will pray for 100 days to make a barrier against the Forces of Darkness. Sekai is surprised that Otomi did not get ejected since she is part darkling, so she reveals that she grabbed Shinra's trunk in time. Otomi notices the floating city is slowly losing altitude and the airship stopped firing and is moving away. Esther worries that the city will fall back into the Realm of Darkness, but Sekai says they should be safe because of Lucille's holy light.
Sekai takes the Keystone back. Fury says she will stay with Lucille, so Sekai bids her goodbye. Sekai, Esther, and Otomi go to Shinra's face and he tells them to put their hands on his back so they can hear Shinra's voice. Shinra speaks, shocking the two. Sekai asks to do the trial one more time. Shinra points out that he already passed it, but Sekai insists. Shinra goes silent and Sekai wonders if his plan is a bust. Esther suddenly starts ranting at Shinra, asking why it helped Discius. Shinra says fine, it will open the way to the maze. Sekai bids them farewell and enters, but Otomi follows him, saying this looks like fun. Sekai says he must do this alone and freezes time. He gets through the maze, kills the last giant spider, and unfreezes time as he reaches the sword. However, Otomi catches up to him with her broom and grabs him just as he touches the sword, resulting in both of them being sent back in time.
When they go back, Otomi is shocked that it is now nighttime and the village is back on the ground. Sekai explains that they are back on the day they first met. Otomi looks around and sees her past self, so she believes him. He explains everything that happened and says it was a mistake to alter history because it allowed Discius to rise, but he cannot allow Lucille to die either. She asks what he is going to do, but he says there is not much time and freezes time. He moves them to the elf council, ties up the slime creature disguised as an elf, then unfreezes time. He apologizes for interrupting, but he came to warn them about the slime creature. The elves are outraged, so he moves to pluck a hair from his head to prove it. The slime panics, returns to its true form, and tries to escape, but Otomi freezes it. As the elves are shocked that they had been infiltrated, Otomi's past self enters and asks what is going on. Otomi explains she is her future self. Sekai says they came to save the village and warns about the bandits about to attack it. To save them, they'll have to take certain measures.
They bring everyone in the village to Shinra. Fury is less friendly to him and he regrets not having time to feed her curry. Anyway, he freezes time, then unfreezes it to present them with a tied up, blindfolded, and gagged Discius. He explains what Discius was doing and planned to do. As Sekai and the Otomis wait for the elves to make a decision, the Otomis ask if he thinks the elves will believe him. He says they did, while commenting in his head that they are identical; the only way to tell them apart is that the past one is wearing a hat. Aksho says they confirmed everything he said and asks for more info while thanking him for saving his life. Sekai says his plan will sound insane, but it is the only way.
Back in the present, right after Sekai entered the maze, Niña pouts that she was left behind again. Esther scoffs and says he is a dead man and saving the village is impossible. Otomi suddenly walks up and says it has been a hell of a year, but Sekai is lost to them.
