Given that original comic and [[WesternAnimation/GarfieldAndFriends cartoon]] didn't had a bovine character as member of the main cast, it could be possible that this bull is CanonForeigner created solely for the movie. The reason why Orson, Wade, Roy and the rest of farm crew aren't with him helping Garfield get to the train is because they didn't get along with Garfield after he landed in their farm ([[MythologyGag referencing their rivalry during]] ''[[MythologyGag Garfield And Friends]]'' [[MythologyGag theme song]]).

In one scene of the second trailer, you can see that she's controlling drones carrying pizza boxes and end of the trailer (barring the scene after movie's title) is set in food factory where she orders Garfield to be thrown into pit, which could mean that said factory belongs to her and Vic messed with her by breaking into it to steal food (given that first trailer showed that he's BigEater [[LikeFatherLikeSon just like his son Garfield]]).

Vic would see this and decide to give Garfield [[LaserGuidedKarma a taste of his own medicine]], which would also explain why he says "You think he would've seen that coming" to Odie.

It seems a prominent theme in the movie will be contrast between how good of a cat-dad Jon is to Garfield versus how lousy of a biological dad Vic is, so it would make both logical and thematic sense if he had a name his parent(s) gave him that he doesn't remember and/or doesn't acknowledge in favor of his adoptive one.

** I can see them making a MythologyGag acknowledging Lyman being PutOnABus, like vaguely alluding to an "annoying roommate" Jon used to have who brought Odie into the house and how he hasn't left since.

Though given Garfield is narrating the film, it will be treated as significantly less important than his own story and brushed off as a CutawayGag. Predictably, it will ignore Lyman's existence.

They went to the trouble of casting Creator/HarveyGuillen to voice him, so he'll likely speak in an ImagineSpot or some other one-off gag, like what occasionally happens in the comic.

I say this cause except in the final bit, we never see him in the scenes with Vic which makes me believe that Jon will go missing. This could also explain why Garfield and Odie are on a train with Street cat: to find Jon! And the synopsis does say it involves a hilarious yet high stakes heist, so it would match up!
