It would be nice, but a lot of our more... vehement Tropers have made it so we can't have nice things... Maybe someday we'll be able to, but not at this time...
I fucking hate crying babies like Manaphy because they are incredibly loud, Back-stabbing bastards, Ear-shattering bastards, and they are just plain fucking annoying, even though Babies are not always human for motherfucking sake!!!!!!!! DX<
I agree. If GASYL can have a Sugarwiki page, then this should have a Darthwiki page.
I don't have low self esteem. I have low esteem for others. I HATE the Netflix version of Aggressive Retsuko!@Bismuth83 I personally think that we should create a Darthwiki page, but limit it to when it happens in fiction and lock it so it doesn't get out of hand and cause natter.
Edited by EWBRtheboy1000 Human... it was nice to meet you... goodbyeThe picture should be linked to the page on the source comic American Elf.

I believe it's SuperF*ckers.
“Sometimes, you just need a lil’ less gun.”Yep, that is from there. I'll ask for a pothole.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI still don't understand this trope. Clearing, please? Also, what WAS moron fodder before it went down? (please don't kill me)

Essentially a slightly toned-down version of what the original entries were like...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Should we add a page where people are allowed to do this? We have one for Gushing, why not one for bashing? The reviews page is really very limited in what we can get in.
Hide / Show RepliesThere were pages like this, and I wasn't around when they were, but from what I understand, they devolved so badly that there is absolutely no chance of them ever coming back.
People who overabuse those things is the reason of Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things...
So we're not allowed to speak our minds? I know it's not the case for ALL complaining but some of them wouldn't get criticized so much of the show's writers actually tried to to do a good job.
Edited by JaggedPrince23The problem is that once people start complaining, they often have a tendency to get fiercer and less civil about it as they continue, and unfortunately, it's more trouble than it's worth to keep moderating that. Bailing out a boat isn't going to work if the water coming in is more than you can scoop up in your buckets; in some cases, you can't keep from capsizing unless you close the hole it's coming in through.
Don't get me wrong, I would love more than anything to have pages where I can just complain all I want about works, and it would be very refreshing to watch others do the same, but I can see why they were outlawed.
The reviews are very limited in what you can get in, especially since you can’t link to off-site reviews.
It doesn’t seem fair that people can’t have an opinion just because the Fan Dumb doesn’t know better than to stay away from the Darth Wiki page that’s meant for complaining about things to begin with. It’s like walking into an influenza ward and attacking the first sick person you see with your mouth. Okay though, not going to argue this any further.
Edited by JaggedPrince23No one said you can't have an opinion, that's ridiculous. You just aren't supposed to come on TV Tropes and bash. How are those remotely the same?
Actually a girl.Who decides what bashing means? I already tried taking my issues with a show to the forums, but they deleted it. So Yeah it seems like I really am not allowed to have an opinion.
Describe what exactly happened in the forums. Did you create a thread solely to whine about something, or did you create a general thread for the show and post your negative thoughts in the OP? The former does not invite discussion, while the latter does.
Also, the old complaining about shows you don't like page was deleted because A. as I previously mentioned it's redundant with the reviews section (I'd get rid of gush about shows you like for the same reason) and B. having a place designed to attract complaints is a bad idea, and it got stupid.
Back then I thought it would actually cut down on arguing if there was a seperate thread meant for people who didn't like the show and another thread meant for gushing. I see your point now though, and I admit you're right.

Also, if we are each only allowed to post ONE "all-time-low" moment in the Dethroning Moment Of Suck page on Darth Wiki, shouldn't we also only be allowed to post one for Crowning Moment Of Awesome? And I support a "Complaining" page, because criticising a work is just as important as gushing about it. (:
What a crazy random happenstance!Take it to the Wiki Talk forum. Also, complaining is much harder to control than gushing, gets far worse, etc.. If you write a review you can complain as much as you like as well as gush as much as you like, but complaining spreads and we don't want that. There used to be a Complain About Shows You Dont Like (that may not be the exact title) examples page; it was cut, thankfully. IJBM was renamed to Headscratchers to reduce complaining, and the forum section was nuked. Rules on one DMOS and no emphasis were put in because people were complaining too much. It's just not worth the time and effort it takes to moderate.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. Please tell me there wasn't actually a YKTTW for Moron Fodder.
Seven barrels of Laser Death. Hide / Show RepliesI can't say for sure that there wasn't. I'm pretty sure that, back when I launched this article, I just made up that ykttw title, but I know it was inspired by a rash of negative ykttw's that had been proposed around that time (and were all shot down for just being complaints).
Jeph Jacques just provided what would make a fantastic page quote for someone to maybe edit in? Please?
You ask here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanDo you think it will be okay if we put in some examples in a matter similar to Complaining About People Not Liking the Show?
Hide / Show RepliesScratch that, it probably would just invite Flame Wars. I'll also remove the examples in the other page due to the Flamebait.
Is there a reason the Quotes page is locked along with the main one, or is it just a blanket lock for all namespaces?
There's a red link. I guess Fan Haters was cut? Or was it renamed?
We're everything brighter than even the sun Hide / Show RepliesThis "trope" needs humorous, ironic or hypocritical examples, added as a form of self-demonstration.
Edited by Aielyn Hide / Show RepliesBy the way, if people in a work complain about works they don't like, that's a Caustic Critic doing his or her job, or a Deadpan Snarker having some fun at their expense. It's also the sort of thing we don't want on the Wiki.
And yet apparently splashing their comment at the top of the work's main page is OK if his name is Doug Walker. Look, I realize everyone here loves the Nostalgia Critic, but the sudden and immediate appearances of quotes on articles for the movies he bashes is more than a little creepy. It smacks of sycophantism, really. Like the whole wiki immediately decides a movie is crap because he did.
Hide / Show RepliesHey I love him, but the amount of wicks he gets just from his quotes people apply to different works (like "Explain ________, EXPLAIN!") is pretty ridiculous. That's why I'm deleting that stuff and adding things that actually apply to him.
It's not really fare that Gushing About Shows You Like gets to have examples, but not this trope.
It should really be both or neither.
