** During the Ramba Ral saga, Kai's Guncannon gets destroyed and replaced with the "Cannon Zaku", a captured Zaku with its head replaced with the Guncannon's. This not only references the "Zeta Zaku" from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamZZ'', but also bears an uncanny resemblance to the Zanny, a mobile suit from the VideoGame/SDGundamGGeneration series and debuting in the obscure late '90s PC game ''Gundam Tactics: Mobility Fleet''. It was an early prototype of the GM cobbled together by the Federation from Guncannon and Zaku parts, also known as Dahle in Manga/MobileSuitGundamThunderbolt.

Though it initially surprised Kycilia and even scared her, she quickly retreats from the command center and leaves an explosives-ladden death trap waiting for them. Char turned off the comms just as the insurrection started, so he didn't even know that [[spoiler: it was his sister leading it.]] And finally, [[spoiler:when some of the Zeon soldiers who fought for Sayla asked her to lead them after the end of the war, she refuses, saying she won't go back to Zeon.]] In other words, this entire plot thread accomplishes absolutely nothing, and might as well have not happened.

The Dolos is Kycilia's ship in Origin

** Ghiren's flagship, the Dolos, is a lot more impressive in this version. In the original series it was simply an exceptionally large MS carrier that had the slight design flaw that it prioritized carrying capacity above all else, including catapult decks, meaning it took a long time to launch it's full compliment into battle. In this version it's a gigantic mobile space fortress nearly as big as A Bao A Qu itself that can carry numerous standard size battleships the same way they carry mobile suits.

One guard is standing outside at his post and notices that it's become exceptionally cold, and crawls over to the shelter and tries to get them to open up. He soon falls asleep and dies along with everyone else in the entire colony, as Zeon had shut off the environmental controls and gassed everyone in order to carry out their ColonyDrop.

This gets to the point where [[spoiler: Sayla leads a pro-Deikun rebellion during the Battle of A Baoa Qu, but it ends up having zero change on the outcome of the story.]]

** The Zakrello in the original anime was a FlawedPrototype that posed little challenge to the Gundam before being unceremoniously taken out. Here, its performance was deemed good enough that it was mass-produced, and a team of them managed to give the newly-upgraded Gundam a bit of trouble, with Amuro even noting that without the magnetic coating, the damage the Gundam sustained would've been worse. Its main pilot Dimitri also received this treatment, as his helmet now sports 7 Ball victory markings, showing he's an AcePilot.

In a twist, it's implied it was an ''intended feature'', as the bow was built from the start to be able to deflect and absorb beam weapon shots, thus allowing Zeon to build up a powerful fleet under the Federation's nose and then convert them in a proper battlefleet capable of challenging them in less than a year.
