* In a sickly ironic twist, it was the PoliceBrutality he experience while wrongly incarcerated by the corrupt Senate in ''ComicBook/TheTransformersIDW'' that finally convinces Megatron that writing poems and treatises won't change anything. The lesson he learned while held in prison and suffering beatings from the Senate's hatchetman (who later turns out to be [[spoiler:Whirl of all people]])? Peaceful resistance would never actually affect the Senate in any meaningful way, nor could he rely on reformers to actually succeed in overcoming the corrupt; the only message that the Senate could not ignore, was massive amounts of applied violence. Cue Megatron taking his first life in a worker riot, and then collecting his first Decepticon followers. [[FromNobodyToNightmare Millions of years of war and hundreds of billions of deaths follow from this lesson]].

* Chiron in ''Film/{{Moonlight}}'' takes revenge on a bully who made his FIrstLove beat him up after school by breaking a chair on the back of his head in class, which leads to him being arrested and sent to juvenile detention. We later learn, that in juvenile he met a drug dealer who gave him a job, and he advances in his career to the point that after the TimeSkip, we see him collecting money from underlings like his childhood father figure, Juan. When talking about this with Kevin, Chiron defends his lifestyle saying there wasn't many options for him with a violent criminal record.
