* The Creator/MarkMillar series Prodigy has genius Elliot Crane recruited by CIA operative Rachel to stop a cult from launching an inter-dimensional invasion of Earth. When Crane figures out the formula for it, Rachel shoots him and it turns out she's in league with evil boss Tinker. But when Tinker uses the formula, it gives Crane access to their systems to thwart the invasion. Crane explains the pair had gone to massive lengths to give Rachel a seemingly perfect cover...but missed the fact she couldn't speak Bedouin when it was a prerequisite for any CIA operative in the area she claimed to have been stationed in. -->Louis: I told you already. I'm looking for my wife.\\
Morgan: Oh. It's printed on albumen. I take my own photographs, I make more money that way. And your dutiful wife's photograph was taken by a glass-plate camera, printed on albumen paper. That makes this 30 years old, which would make her 60, 65, and the birth of your daughter a medical miracle.

I found you, faker.

Added DiffLines:

* VideoGame/MarioEightyFive: The game's antagonist, MX, often disguises himself as Mario to lull people into a false sense of security, first seen at the start of World 1-1. While the disguise looks convincing when playing VideoGame/SuperMarioBros1, a game with very rudimentary graphics, anything higher would immediately expose various flaws in the "False Hero" disguise, such as a discolored color palette and empty dots for eyes.

Added DiffLines:

* Being a mod about a certain faker, VideoGame/VsSonicExe has a lot of its planned opponents disguising themselves as various Sonic characters, most of them failing in one way or another.
** Sonic.EXE, as always, has pitch black eyes with red pupils and TearsOfBlood. It's not fooling anyone, and he sheds this appearance over the course of the mod's story. He disguises himself again in "You Can't Run", but he coughs up blood and his mouth seems to be conjoined together.
** While EXE's disguise is one of the more convincing of the bunch, he lacks ConjoinedEyes, his arms are blue, and he lacks stripes on his shoes. He ditches the masquerade at the end of Faker.
** Wechida looks similar to Knuckles at a glance, but his color palette is completely different, a nasty gash covers his right eye, he has ConjoinedEyes, the spikes on his hands are missing, and he lacks a mouth when not singing. He transforms in the second half of his version of "My Horizon".The design meant for Vs. Sonic.exe is an early version, and his redesign used for offshoot mods such as VideoGame/IllegalInstruction looks even less like the original echidna.
** Chaotix is more convincing, but his eyes are conjoined and share a single pupil (which is at least hidden via ForcedPerspective), his color palette is washed out, his shoes are more akin to Sonic's rather than Knuckles', and his chest crest is missing. He would've transformed halfway in his own version of "My Horizon". That being said, it's played with in the vein that Chaotix isn't intentionally trying to disguise himself, he just looks like Knuckles until he goes berserk.Chaotix was also redesigned after the mod was cancelled, now taking elements from foxes in conjunction with an echidna base, which means that his "disguise" is even less convincing than before.
** In his Psycho Sonic form, Satanos' quills are messy, a single streak of blood can be seen from his eyes, a pentagram is etched on his chest, randomly disappearing pupils, parasites that appear all over his body whenever he moves, and a stripe on only one of his shoes. He would've shed this form after "Trickery", and would've used his true form in "Perdition".
** Demogri takes the form of a washed out Sonic, his tail much longer than normal, quills melting into each other, and with only three CreepyLongFingers on each hand.
** Grimeware is purple instead of blue, and that's about it for anomalies regarding his design before he transforms. Played with in the sense that Grimeware is straight up using the real Sonic's body as a host, with the discoloration likely being the result of him rotting.
** Also played with for Hog, who (when compared to Sonic) has black shoes, larger eyes, no mouth, fluffier fur, and other sorts of anomalies. That being said, Hog is not intentionally trying to copy Sonic on his own, instead being a bootleg based on the games.
** Trope with Grimbo in "Too Slow Encore" and Melthog in "Melting", both of which mimic Sonic perfectly during the start of their songs.
