* DutchAngle: The final battle stage starts this way focusing upward to Stilgar combing the spice sands and preparing to mount a {{Sandworm}}. [[spoiler: The camera then pans upwards and tilts down to reveal an army of Fremen behind him, a group of them holding the Atredies flag.]]

** The film version of Feyd-Rautha is exposed to the ''gom jabbar'' and survives to the ordeal, despite not having any Bene Gesserit training and not even knowing much about them judging by his lines to Margot. In the novels, it's not necessarily impossible for an untrained person to pass the test, but it would require an ungodly amount of natural discipline and restraint, which Harkonnens are not exactly known for having, and of which the filmic Feyd is still far from being an example anyway. The movie gets away with this by implying Feyd is TooKinkyToTorture, which had never been contamplated as an option in either the films or the books.

** The very decision to have [[spoiler:Mohiam]] being the grey eminence behind the fall of the Atreides only opens questions within the movies' continuity, as it gives [[spoiler:her]] conflicting courses of action. In the novel, the character's role in the conspiration was vague, and there was the strong implication that [[spoiler:the Bene Gesserit]] were simply being forced to go with the tide and save what they could of their breeding program from the Emperor' and the Baron's treachery -- a line even the first film seems to follow when Mohiam tells Jessica that they have done all they could for her in Arrakis. In the second film, however, it's not explained why the person who orchestrated everything also asked specifically for [[spoiler:Jessica and Paul to be spared]], as any possible future cooperation would depend on the flimsy condition that they never even suspected that [[spoiler:she was the one who had their house wiped out]].

** As Alia cannot communicate with others save through Jessica, the accuracy of what Jessica relates in her daughter's name is uncertain. For instance, she claims Alia is completely on-board regarding Paul becoming the Lisan al-Gaib, but by that point displays no qualms in lying and manipulating to maneuver people according to her agenda.
