Murder Drones tries to attract you with a generous dose of Black Comedy, snarkiness, ax-craziness and cybernetic gore and frankly it does a fairly good job.
The problem is, that the pacing is so fast that it's hard to keep up with everything, what's happening on the first view. And even second.
If you try to focus on the complicated storyline, you'll be having a hard time figuring out what's actually happening onscreen. Some scenes happen so fast, that you need to replay them at least thrice to grasp them. The ludicrous amount of detail in a single frame and generally dim lighting doesn't help either.
Perhaps the most confusing character is V - her personality is terribly inconsistent. She's introduced as an Ax-Crazy lunatic but rapidly shifts into Deadpan Snarker mode. Despite commiting gruesome acts, she's off-put by N licking her claw, yet only two episodes later she's casually munching on a slaughtered worker drone's arm (which has been lying about for some time). Her later remark about the deed makes even the dorky N lose his unquestioned admiration of her. The flashbacks reveal her original BespectacledShrinking Violet nature - nothing like what she is currently. The last we see of her, she goes into aloof serious and composed character, but it plays little role as she's presumably dead now.
Nevertheless, if you're on the Dark Side, this animation is a must watch.
WebAnimation Too quick, rewatch necessary
