openHelp me make a page for Off Book: The Improvised Musical Radio
I recently started listening to Off Book: The Improvised Musical, a podcast run by Jess McKenna and Zach Reino (also known from Welcome to Mountport, which their podcast inspired) where every episode is full-length, totally improvised musical. I’ve made a page before (SpongeBob SquigglePants), but I just started this very long podcast, so I don’t have enough information to add all the tropes, and I don’t wanna spoil it for myself. It would make the most sense to have a recap page so every episode’s tropes could be listed separately. I could start the page, but I’d have to update it very slowly overtime. If anyone here has listened to most/all of Off Book and would like to volunteer to start/contribute to the page, it would be appreciated. This podcast is too awesome and trope-filled to lack a page entirely (especially since Welcome to Mountport already has one).
Edited by HopHoppipopenWhere to put the Character Page for Audio Plays Radio
Someone made a Character Page for the Trampy Movies. Does anyone know where to put the character page on the Character Sheets? Do I put the sheet for Web Animations? Web Originals?
openQuestion about Video Examples: Radio
Can they be made for Podcasts (i.e with a static image of the cover with a clip of the podcast)? One might argue that a simple quote would do, but in the case of tropes that have to do with voice inflection or specific dialogue quirks, I feel like they could be useful.
openQuestion Radio
Is True Capitalist fake or real, because going over some trope pages, I can't tell whether it's an act or if this guy is insane. If the latter is correct, don't we have rules saying no character pages for real people?
open Alex Jones, yet again. Radio
I know he is undisputedly vile and imbecilic, but while I do agree with the rationale against any articles about him as I'm not a fan of him and his crazy screeds either, my question is would it be rather biased considering we have articles for people far worse than him, or other contentious topics for that matter? It shouldn't hurt to make a rather level-headed page about him similar to Jesse Ventura (that alone made me write this question in the first place), and lock it as needed to keep any Flame Wars and agendas from being written.
open What trope(s) would apply here? Radio
There's this popular series of French-Canadian humoristic sketches on the radio called "Les 2 Minutes du Peuple" (the People's 2 Minutes). In one sketch NASA scientists receive photos of Mars taken by a rover and they casually and nonchalantly discuss how the photos are poorly done, since a Martian has red eyes on one of the pictures (as if the flash reflected in his eyes). It takes a few seconds before they realize they actually have a picture of a Martian and that there's life on Mars and they freak out.
Then they call another scientist to announce him there's life on Mars, and the scientist looks completely unfazed and says something like "well they already found life on Earth and look where that got us".
openRadio / True Capitalist probably should be purged like the Alex Jones page Radio
First of all, what he does is not a persona. He really means what he says. Second of all, he has been banned from Gab for hate speech, specifically death threats. He will tell you himself that that was the reason. https://web.archive.org/web/20190121192457/https://ghost.report/2018/12/13/message-from-ghost-is-it-the-last/
Edited by OflameoopenTrue Capitalist Radio
I found the page True Capitalist during a wiki walk and I have a couple questions:
- Should True Capitalist be moved to Podcast.TrueCapitalistRadio? It appears to be a podcast, and I'm not sure why "Radio" isn't in the page title when it's part of the show's title.
- Is the talk show fictional or nonfictional? I'm legitimately not sure based off of the page and I just wanted to ask in case anything was NRLEP.
openTrueCapitalist Radio
Should We Have This? The subject of the page is a blatant enough racist to have a gab.ai account, and the page itself can't seem to decide whether it's a bizarre parody, an ED/KF-ish hit piece on a "lolcow", or an actual, proper work page.
Edited by lee4hmzopenCan we just cut every news page? Radio
The Alex Jones page was cut because it had blatant ROCEJ and NRLEP violations on it. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?parent_id=67073&type=att
I can't find any page that pertains to news and radio that doesn't have the same violations, so can we just go ahead and purge them all?
open Alex Jones dead links Radio
Alex Jones has been recently removed from Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. I just wanted to let everyone know about this in case there are any Dead Links on that page that need fixing (I haven't read the page fully).
Edit: I can confirm that there are in fact a few dead links on that page and its subpages that should be fixed.
Edited by Mickoonsley19open i dunno where to put this Radio
so there was this radio ad I only heard once on KISS 102.3 a couple weeks ago and it was an It Can Wait thing. i didn't hear all of it but it went along the lines of this: this is disguised as a funny country song where some guy writes tool instead of pool and becomes the typo fool or something. they then (presumably) keep texting and run into an oncoming train. the music drops and a guy says "car accidents aren't funny. it can wait." and i was fucking terrified.
openRadio trope question Radio
Has there been any discussion or definition of a "Mysterious Radio Broadcast" or "Ghost Radio" Trope. I mean this as a broadcast from a non existent station or from a given channel from an unknown source. This could cover things like Radio Free Death from the White Wolf game Orpheus, the random alien (?) broadcasts in the podcasts Wolf 359 and Archive 81, or an urban legend about a short lived transmission that can only be heard at a certain time of night? This could stretch to TV broadcasts as well, such tings like seeing ghosts in the static of an (now old, non-digital) TV screen at midnight.
openTrue Capitalist description Radio
The description is a full-length novel and almost entirely about audience reactions and trolling the guy. Anyone familiar with it up for cleaning?
I've never heard of the show but I am wondering if the page needs a lock after cleaning — I'm getting an Anne Coulter/CWC vibe here.
Edited by DracMonsteropen adaptation for radio Radio
How can you adapt a nursery rhyme for radio while using all elements of radio? For example, say, Jack and Jill.
openNo Title Radio
Errr... (red face). I think I understand why the article on Michael Bentine was closed and locked. I was more intent on getting some sort of article there on this seminal comedian and Goon Show founder, if only so that all four Goons could be represented here and all the other articles referencing Bentine could have something about the man to link to. To my shame and justifiably busted for it, I leant far too heavily on the existing Wikipedia article with only minimal changes and additions. (Although it doesn't officially say anything on the Locked Pages list, and nothing was said to me at the time advising me the page had been pulled and I was in breach of the site rules.) If I promise to make it far more original this time, could I be allowed to have another go, if the page could be unlocked?

Some pages have an Audio (audio plays etc.) folder, some have Radio. Because there's a lot of overlap between them - Big Finish is almost always Audio Plays, but some of its stuff premièred on radio - I'd like to standardise it as Radio & Audio or perhaps Audio & Radio. Does that seem okay?
(Very tiny thing, I know. But I'm terribly finicky and I don't want to hurt the feelings of the other five audio fans.)
Hello!
I'm a Longtime lurker, first time contributor! I'm wondering how to properly index Absolutely No Adventures. (I haven't written the entry yet, but figured I'd ask before I did)
I think it's more of an audio drama than a podcast, but I've seen Batman Audio Adventures under podcast so idk what to do.
(Also since there wasn't a podcast or audio drama medium tag, I stuck my question under Radio)
