Recently, i've been at heavy work with the following pages, attempting to construct/expand upon them: The Golden Age Of Animation The Silent Age Of Animation The Dark Age Of Animation The Renaissance Age Of Animation

But i only know so much and i'm getting overwhelmed trying to gather as much info as possible to fill these pages. I would really appreciate any help i can get constructing these pages. After all, in the words of Scrooge Mc Duck, Knowledge is power!

Thanks to anyone who replies.

You probably should have gone through YKTTW.

Yeah, this should have gone through YKTTW before being posted on the main site. Animation's history isn't generally broken down into "ages", like The Ages Of Super Hero Comics; it seems an unnatural way of splitting the medium. Plus, from the looks of it, the pages are exclusively about mainstream American animation, not animation as a whole. Then there's the spelling and grammar errors...

But to actually be productive and not just complain, I've made a rough page for the History of Animation; it's a Useful Notes page. I know a fair amount about animation history, so I'll add to it when I have the time.

Thanks for the all fish!

I think it's wrong to put the 80's in the The Reniassance Age Of Animation because in my view animation in the 80's was a combination of the dark age before it (Filmation and Dic) and the Reniassance after it (independent and adult animation) plus we should also have the history of animation for The Noughties (2000 to 2009/2010)

Those pages are still a work in progress and i admit that they do need a lot of refining.

However, i would like contributions to these pages. Also, i want to add The to Golden Age Of Animation so that it can stay consistent with the rest of the Age Of Animation pages, but i can't figure out how.

Any help will be appreciated.

^Really. Also, thanks to anybody who helped me with the Ages of animation. It's just so offputting to see "The" missing from the Golden Age when the rest of the ages of animation do.

I took care of it. You can't "change" the name of an existing page. You can only make a new page with the name you want and get rid of the old one.

In the future if you need to do something like that again, what you do is

  1. make a page with the name the way you want it (in this case "The Golden Age of Animation");
  2. copy all the contents of the page with the wrong name to the page with the right name;
  3. then add the line [[redi rect:RightNameAsAWikiword]] (without the space in "redirect", of course) to the page with the wrong name.

Now the wrong name is still a bluelink, but clicking on it send you to the right page. The wrong page can be cutlisted if you want it completely gone, but it doesn't need to be. Don't forget to make a discussion page for the new name.

They're looking good. I do wonder, though, on the Dark Age page, if it wouldn't make more sense to list the shows by year, rather than alphabetically. Its easier to see the decay and rebirth of animation as a medium if it's chronological.

They've been among my favorite pages on this site since they were made. And the chronological order idea does sound interesting, though it would take a lot of research, and it would involve making an actual cutoff year for the beginnings and ends of the ages when really it was more of a gradual process.
