About that in-development Transformers x G.I. Joe film...I'm hoping it has a reasonable budget on the same level as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
ROTB was affected by COVID protocols, so...
Oh, and on top of that, the aforementioned title? That's what I am guessing it will be. Instead of the Versus Title the crossover comics had, it will use an x to suggest how the Autobots and the Joes will come together and work with each other. The Power of Friendship and teamwork, peeps!
You be yourself for everyone, or you go home.I think the reason why Paramount is doing badly financially lately is because they keep airing their movies around the same time as some of the bigger blockbuster films, like how Dungeons and Dragons had aired around the same time as John Wick Chapter 4 and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Although, to be fair to the Mission Impossible movie, no one knew that both the Barbie movie and Oppenheimer were going to be massive successes.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Amidst all this confusion and speculation, IndieWire has asked a probing question for us to consider:
What if no one buys Paramount?
Fear it... or not. Here it is — Apollo and Sony’s plans for Paramount, if they buy it. They will plan to break it up. Regulatory issues will abound, so Sony will likely divest CBS and its affiliated networks to Apollo, and Apollo will sell it off. One of the likely buyers would be Nexstar.
CW was sold to Nexstar but before Nexstar bought CW, a lot of shows with diverse cast were cancelled en masse aka the ‘Red Wedding’.
Sony gets the Paramount library but seeing how they mishandled Funimation, that doesn’t necessarily fill me with confidence. Also, there’s the issue that 5 Studios will be reduced to 4 studios. Another thing regulatory boards won’t love.
The only possible winners here are the greedy shareholders, who did nothing when Sumner Redstone ran Paramount badly for two decades.
Luckily, everything is up in the air right now so we don’t need to panic.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Bumping: there’s a puff piece here from Deadline about Redstone attending the IF (2024) premiere in New York: https://deadline.com/2024/05/shari-redstone-red-carpet-paramount-pictures-if-premiere-1235914606/
Also, it looks like Peacock won’t be bundling with Paramount+ after all. Source is also Deadline: https://deadline.com/2024/05/comcast-peacock-netflix-apple-tv-streaming-bundle-1235915222/

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Looks like Sony is having second thoughts on their bid.
Fear it... or not.Indie Wire’s plea to not shutter Paramount Plus: https://www.indiewire.com/news/business/dont-shut-down-paramount-plus-1235002113/
It sounds like they’re considering other tactics.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I wonder why they are shutting down Paramount Plus?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!They aren't, not yet anyway. The article is adressing a rumor that it might happen.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonIt's not getting shut down... yet. The theory is that whoever ends up buying Paramount will have the initiative to close the eponymous streaming service as it's not profitable, at least not right now anyway.
Fear it... or not.Hate to double post but here's an update. Sony 'n' Apollo are still at it and they just signed an NDA with Paramount to discuss a deal. Emphasis on "a" as it looks like it won't be that $26 billion offer but a compromised one.
Fear it... or not. This really sucks. I hope it doesn’t push through.
I really don’t want Sony and Apollo breaking the company apart. Especially since the deal would mean selling off the Paramount lot. And if Sony broke the networks away from the studio, its a big possibility Movie and TV Trek would be separate again.
Well the $26 million all cash offer is off the table so I’m wondering how the shareholders are gonna feel about that.
I gotta say, this whole back and forth between the studios has been nerve wracking and irritating.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
Honestly, I would actually like movies to have more reasonable budgets. One of the reasons why they’re having such a hard time with Star Trek movies is they keep wanting to make big budget Trek movie to chase a Billion dollar box office. I love Trek but I don’t think its going to do a decent job but it won’t be a billion and a Trek movie does better if they don’t have an over the top budget.
