Also, there were rumors about anime adaptation recently. Let's see if they are true.
Was gonna post the link about that, but wasn't sure. I mean it's less a matter of if and more a matter of when.
There was a twitter leak about this, but getting an official is super nice. Cannot wait.
Edit: Apparently the studio animaging this is terrible so now I'm kind of super bummed since there's comparisons to Lucifer and Biscuit hammer in every discussion. Good Lord is Kodansha just all kinds of terrible when it comes to most of their anime.

At least the director and scriptwriter are good, so there is hope. If producers insist on prioritizing this over other projects, it may be decent.

Hopeless when the animation will be lackluster and that's where they'll need the most OOMPH. Frankly speaking, this ones dead in the water which is massively disappointing.

You know, I am not the guy who is ready to dismiss anything without seeing the actual result. If this project is a piority for the production comitee, it can be good enough. If not, when whatever.
I hate the "then whatever" mindset since there's no reason whatsoever for it to be this way. Series is absolutely amazing and has been on awards tear and THIS is the studio it gets dumped on? It's the same thing that happened with Berserk or Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer. I'll give it til the first trailer, but given their apparent shitshows with kancolle S2 and The Detective is Already Dead, I'm not expecting anything but disappointment when the series deserved so much more and better.
...The majority of studios don't directly matter to the end result. While they do give you some idea of what you're getting, that's more because they tend towards similar sorts of things. Staff is much more important

You got my comment wrong. I mean, if adaptation is bad, there is nothing we can do here, but there is still a chance it will be good, no need to dismiss it just based on the studio.
The Dangers In My Heart adaption didn't have a lot going for it before it aired and Shin-Ei no major hits, but it's fairly good so far. And Oshi no Ko is Dogo Kobo's by far biggest hit ever, the first to have a good M Al rating too. ENGI (worse than either) might be able to pull it off, even if their previous work suggests otherwise. Fingers and toes crossed, hope for a miracle?
If I recall from a poll, Doga Kobo was the 3rd most beloved/well liked studio in Japan with the only ones in front of it being Kyoani at #1 and Bones at #2. I do like the miracle thing you mentioned since that's kind of the series big thing. Also, MAL(and the general anime community in terms of opinions and values) are rancid bullshit that's easily gamed and led by the nose.

Indeed, but I just meant to show that previous results aren't objective measure of future success or failure, especially in an industry as reliant on individual talent. Still, my hopes for this anime adaption are not high, but I will wait for the first PV to call doom. Really can't figure out the logic behind giving a manga this praised to this studio though...
Scanlation team picked it up so chapters 24 to 26 are up.

That's some decent advertising. For Italy. Any news on the anime?
Nothing yet. Likely too soon though I really don't know.
Series had some chapters drop over at Mangalife and Mangasee making it nearly up to date.
New chapter dropped a few days ago for anyone still following this.
It's fanmade.

Link to post from another site since the format would break a bunch of stuff if copypasted

PV is out and it actually looks decent.
f most of the show ends up looking like this, I'd say we are good, but P Vs can be deceptively good looking. It apparently releases in January next year too, so hopefully they are taking their time to get it right.
Starting a thread for the manga Medalist.
Note: Won the Next Manga Award in the print category in 2022. Nominated for the 47th Annual Kodansha Manga Award in 2023. Won the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2023.
Manga was on a tear in terms of racking up awards and it was missing a nice thread(also needs a tropes page at some point). Absolutely amazing and beautiful heartfelt story of hard work and perseverance to follow your dreams and emotional fulfillment.
