My Adventures With Superman (HBO Max Series)

If it just ends up being an animated version of Lois and Clark, I'd be fine with that, honestly.

You mean the show that thought Deathstroke was a dude with magnet powers and two eyes that wasn't even named Slade Wilson?

I'm not kidding, that actually happened in that show.

I mean yeah it got weird and soap-opera-y and played the canon fast and loose but it also was a fun slice of life show with Superman and I was okay with that.

I wasn't really knocking Lois and Clark, just pointing out something really weird they did.

Unfortunately, as with a lot of tv shows that are built on the sexual tension between the two leads, they didn't really know what to do with themselves once they had Clark and Lois actually get together. They ended up doing a lot of "theirs is a love for all time" episodes that were a mite too saccharine for my taste.

Superman is at his best when he's with Lois so that all sounds like a thumbs up from me.

In all their near 100 years of existence, they’ve never been with anyone else really.

There have been other love interests, but we all know what the writing on the wall is.

Another interesting note from Tom Ascheim's interview is how he embraces the series gaining a potential female audience:

So who we thinking for supporting characters and villains.

I think Lex and Brainiac are locked but who else can we see.

Intergang are the villains in the first episode.

That usually means Apokolips.

As always you can’t go wrong with the Main Man.

Since they brought up the show being a romantic comedy, I'd joke about Maxima making an appearance, but that might not be on the cards.

I find it kind of funny that this series with Lois and Clark together, in a light slice of life romantic comedy series. Was announced on the same day as the Injustice animated film set in a grim alternate reality where after Superman is tricked into killing Lois and nuking Metropolis by The Joker, and becomes a murderous tyrant who takes over the entire world and slaughters millions. It is a pretty funny contrast.

Personally, I'm hoping for Bizarro to put in an appearance—simply because he's my favorite supervillain.

Oh yeah I just remembered Lobo has a kid of his own now too, a girl named Crush.

There’s prolly something that can be done there if they want too.

Mxyzptlk would work great in a Rom Com setting.

I'm currently watching the DC Kids Fandome livestream on You Tube. Apparently, the show is coming out in 2023.

Heh Lois' design looks different, looks like all the Luz comparisons got to them.
