Like, people are allowed to be offended by Hex's joke, but when you start trying to bring down unrelated/marginally-related people and deliberately try to push people's trauma buttons, you cannot say that you're the good guy in this situation.

And why do you specifically label False's army? Anyone who watched the clip would be revolted, with or without context, though in this case Hex delivered no punchline to go along with the morbidity. I have a friend who lives in the Philippines who watched the clip, and even he said that Hex's "People can be mad sensitive" spiel is stereotypical Pinoy jock talk, which says a lot about habits there. The hate against Vanta is unwarranted, but SA trauma mention is there because it's hypocritical for him to chastise Zaion about a joke she very quickly dialed back on, while he's out there desecrating dead people and abusing pets without any comeuppance nor apology. Double standards much?

In other news, some Japanese Pokémon YouTuber who's a moderator in NijiJP Amamiya Kokoro's chat is being brought up for slanderous remarks against Suisei. How bold of him to slander a big name while he's living in Japan, a country with draconian anti-defamation laws outweighting truth laws, and involving the very two companies that had sworn to fight defamation against their VTubers at the end of 2022.

I bring up False because he's the one who brought it to his audience's attention with full knowledge of what they would do with it. Why would any Niji-anti follow an account dedicated to clipping Vanta?

Also, "quickly"? You mean after she lost her job and was catching heat from it by the internet? After Hex had said in a stream in the aftermath that she refused to apologize to him? Making a joke, however tasteless, is one thing. But if you learn that said joke touches on a personal trauma of someone who considered you a friend and your first reaction is to brush it off, that's something else entirely.

Lastly, you're still looking at this with the viewpoint that he actually did any of those things when it's more likely he was invoking shock humor along the lines of a typical Seth Mc Farlane animated comedy by recounting an absurd fictional scenario, with the "jock bro" attitude being part of the delivery. The joke didn't hit with me either, but it's remarkably flimsy evidence for an unironic accusation of actual atrocities.

You're selectively omitting my main issue. If it was supposed to be a joke, then where is the punchline? If I can't have an answer, then my view on Hex won't change. Even you can't assert for certain that it was shock humour, because to me (and so many others) it's nothing but an anecdote that paints Hex as a jerkass.

The setup is that he complains about people being too sensitive, the punchline is that the scenarios he gives would be justified to be upset about. You know, if they actually happened.

As near as I can tell, the Niji connection is a nothingburger. He popped up in Amamiya's chat, got modded because he's a big deal, and isn't really involved with her otherwise

Okay, my reading of the Hex situation is that he told the stories as a joke (the punchline is calling people sensitive), but also he did do those things (the accounts are too detailed to be made up on the spot)

Now you're retconning what was said in stream. What was said prior to Hex's anecdote was Vanta overthinking about potentially burning bridges with a friend because he hasn't talked to them much in a long while. Hex should have just stopped at the part where he said it's OK to ghost people if Vanta's mental state isn't in the right place to respond, but then he brought up these stories you call a joke. Nowhere during the stream does Hex ever bring up the notion of scenarios or intrusive thoughts.

...I never said he did. Also, I may have misremembered the order in which he said what he did because the clipper took it down after everything that followed and I wasn't going to give False any more views.

Its up to you. There's been a lot of negativity (merited due to the company's shady practices), but if you support the talent rather than the company, there's no one forcing you to not watch their content.

It depends on you. While I'm still subscribed to a few I personally don't support any of NijiEN and won't until Doki clears them of any wrongdoings by collabing with them if they leave the company or by speaking of them positively. I'll still support Livers from other branches though because I don't think they're as likely to have been involved in the bullying that's rumored to have done down in the English branch.

Man, I got so excited for the Gura x SuperGroupies merch collab, but it's too bad that the watch isn't made from materials and parts that would actually warrant the $230 USD pricetag.
