After playing other gachas, I remember being surprised that we didn't get, like, a token playable character from every villainous organization. I'm still a bit surprised we haven't gotten playable Abyss or Treasure Hunter characters, even as Token Good Teammates.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Treasure Hunters are basically evil versions of the Adventurers' Guild. So I guess it'd be, like, Bennet or something.
Song of the SirensI think that Enjou is pretty much a lock for whenever they want us to see a most sympathetic side of Abyss!sib. But yeah, the lack of a Treasure Hoarder character is weird, especially since that organization is way more sympathetic than literally any other enemy type in the game besides specifically Slimes, and even then it's debateable.
Slimes are pure evil. Have you ever truly looked into those terrible eyes of theirs? Therin lies the actual abyss, unblinking and nefarious.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I think the final issue with Signora is that, despite being a Sacrificial Lion as Iniuria Talis mentioned, her death just feels cheap for the role she was supposed to play: she's not sympathetic enough to make you care beyond the shock value of her death, which admittedly was part of the point; but, she's also not hateable enough to make it feel karmic when the Shogun turns her into ashes.
By hateable I mean that she didn't do enough in the plot to make you invested in seeing her go down. Yes, Signora trash talks Venti and kicks him after stealing his gnosis, but beyond that her worst actions on-screen are being smug or annoying unlike Azar who is a Hate Sink that piles crime after crime during the Sumeru story so by the end you really want to see him brought down by the heroes.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.x5 That's Dainsleif and Rosaria respectively.
Dainsleif is on the tall male skeleton and Mihoyo themselves have said he will eventually be playable.

Dain's basically the Abyss Order's archnemesis at this point.
Likewise, Rosaria was a bandit in backstory iirc, but conceptually she's a representative of the Church of Favonius.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. If Dainsleif counts as Abyss, then so do Arlecchino and Kaeya, since they're both also from Khaenri'ah
Song of the SirensDainsleif actually uses the Abyss in his attacks.
Whenever we get that Abyss (totally not Quantum) element he will likely be the first to have it.
Don't forget Albedo!
Oissu!New event takes place in Watatsumi Island. RIP to new players, I guess.
Song of the SirensShe's kind of morally gray but the way the game writes her also feels like it's constantly stepping back so that people don't get to uncomfortable with her. Her attacking Furina is treated like a footnote, the house of hearth's bad reputation prior to Fontaine is fixed by it actually being the fault of the former director, Childe and Scara's warnings about her feel disproportionate to how much of a problem she actually ended up being. Her voice lines honestly feel kind of overcompensating with all the edginess, it's like if Jeanne Alter was swagless.
I don't think I've seen anything regarding what skeleton Sunday uses in all the leaks about his weird status as a playable.

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysA little late to this topic, but to address this:
I have to point out that, as someone who finished Part I of Honkai Impact 3rd (and dropped it afterward, so no Part II), they sanitized villains there too. So, I think it's just a Hoyoverse thing.

A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Someone on the writing team must really hate Sara.
As a Neuvillette main, I concur about those Hydro Slimes. They're so evil, I can't hurt them.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*I get it. I hate Sara too.
Song of the SirensI'm starting to believe that Arlecchino must have been a coding nightmare given how many times she was fiddled with in the beta and the amount of bugs still remain.
For those not in the know, her burst doesn't have invincibility frames like other 5 star characters. She also can't collect blood debts from Stormterror, although that boss is notoriously buggy. And then there's the bugs that Hoyoverse acknowledged in the update notes...
She can't even escape the 4.7 beta, as they are changing her skill's particle generation cooldown from a half second to 1.5 seconds. In practice this does nothing, as her skill cooldown is longer than the particle cooldown, there is no sacrificial spear, and even going skill-burst-skill would be too long for the particle gen cooldown.

It’s for the new Abyss, one of the affixes resets cd on skills and such. I think a few other spear users were changed too.

4*s in the Wanderer/Baizhu banner: Beidou, Faruzan, Layla
Song of the SirensThey let Layla outta the cage
Ey, migi vuru?I just checked and, outside of the standard banner SSR and starter SR, the character who's currently gone longest without a rerun is Shenhe (last banner ended April 11 2023) - after her it's Nilou, who had the banner immediately following hers.
The 4* who's gone longest without a rerun is Kaveh (last banner ended May 23 2023, which has been his only rateup so far). He's in joint 3rd longest overall, shared with Ganyu who was one of the 5* units on his banner.

Song of the SirensAs expected from CV: TM Revolution!

But having a serial killer as a random 4* you can innocently pull at any time and not realize that he's a murderer (with a questionable relationship to the age of maturity) until you're way into the story is objectively hilarious.
But yeah, they were cooking with Siobhan. I assumed that she was an Early-Bird Cameo of an eventual unit until I heard about the data differences.
