I almost beat the first boss on my second try. Damn. But I thought of a cool idea. What if a post game reward either unlocked Zagreus' weapons from the first game or let you actually play as Zagreus with his old weapons.

That Cerberus boss hit me right in the feels.

Though I have to say, after loving the first two levels I'm not really feeling the Fields of Mourning.

He hurt the good boy. Chronos must die. The cast is way more useful now. In the first game it was just kinda there and kind of in an awkward place with the rest of your kit. Making it an AOE with a crowd control niche means I'm actually using my cast more than the times I remembered I had it.

based on where the current build cuts off for the underworld path, I imagine each run for that path might end in Mel rescuing one of the characters who were frozen in time by Chronos

The cast in this game is so totally different from the cast in the first game I'm thinking they maybe should have called it something else.

EDIT: Sorry, to clarify, I don't mean "cast" as in "group of characters", I mean "the game mechanic that happens when you press B".

I feel like the full game will focus on reuniting with the old cast, or at least most of them.

The final boss feels significantly... overtuned compared to the rest of the game.

Thank the gods that winning against Cerberus fixes the good boy. Made it straight to the final boss afterwards on that attempt, Selenes spell for bonus heals is amazing for survivability.

I didnt beat Chronos but actually managed to get his health pretty low, though no way there is not a second phase after that.

Also finally unlocked the second path, so I'm gonna focus on exploring that for now.

Edit: Well looks like exploring the surface is still gonna have to wait. Though at least I got to grab the materials to make the fishing rod.

Reached the final boss, but as for the surface, I only made it to the boat.

Yeah definitely not the best choice of words on my part.

So, right now surface runs are a lot easier than Underworld runs. Since there's only two surface levels currently, ending with a fight against Eris at the end of the second section.

I still haven't beat Chronos. Only got to his second stage once. As far as bosses go he's certainly a grade above everything else. This does make sense since he's a Titan and unlike Hecate he's not pulling punches, though the impression is that his first stage is him not trying that hard because of his arrogance. Second phase is the "I'm done fucking around" phase, for sure.

I made it to Chronos. Yeah, I agree that he feels way too strong and fast, but then again, this is Early Access and there's no way they've got the run end prepared yet, so they'll probably change it later.

Speaking of rebalancing, I also feel that the various boons and weapons could use some adjustment. Most of them don't feel particularly strong. Either that, or some of the enemies and bosses are just a bit too damage spongy. Though the wands are definitely in desperate need of a buff.

You'd think that Chronos would actually be easier to defeat than Hades and the other Olympians. Remember that a recurring element of the classical myths was new generations of gods surpassing their elders. The Titans should be weaker than the Olympians, not stronger.

I'm really partial to the axe + Apollo combo. Nothing's like a giant circle of death around you.

Finally got my hands on the first game today! I'll check it out after I do the 7 star Primarina raid in ScarVio and let y'all know how it goes

It's mentioned in-game that it took six gods to defeat him and the myths had the gods get a lot of help, so just Melinoe having trouble seems natural. Chronos also seems at the height of his potential power almost to Story-Breaker Power levels, mainly due to them conflating Cronus the titan with Chronos the god of time.

That said, Meli can slay him by herself, and Zag can take down Hades even at his full strength, so there's that. XD

First propper trip to the surface went quite well, made it up to Eris and even almost beat her.

Though she did do quite a lot of damage to herself by blowing up loads of barrels while standing right next to them. Not sure if that was just really lucky for me or something that can happen frequently.

She uses the Adamant Rail the same way a player would—a Cast from Hit Points to power up her shots.

I mean, to be fair, a lot of boons in the original Hades also felt kind of worthless.

This is also Early Access so stuff will be tweaked as needed.

Got my first Chronos kill. Panicking the entire time during the second phase because at the end I was down to 2 health, only to realize after I beat him that I actually skill had Skelly's death defiance. Hermes' legendary really saved my ass if I'm being honest. It's time slow ability isn't useful for that fight, but the fact it gives you another death defiance is absolutely incredible.
