YAY!!!!! Finally, a sequel to the Incredibles!!! I wonder why it took them so long to make one? Anyway, glad to hear the news!
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!@ Handsome Rob Agreed. I mean, considering how people are desperate for a sequel, I'm also hoping that the plot will be awesome, and maybe, just maybe we will be introduced to new characters and superpowers.
The only thing I'm worried about right now is if I will actually like the story and when the sequel is coming out.
If each member of the Parr family is roughly an FF analogue, then that would have Jack-Jack meet up with Franklin, who had wild, unpredictable power since birth.
i've had a hypothetical superhero codename for a while now. now does Jackhammer sound?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Jackhammer? So Jack-Jack becomes Thor?
There have been lots of fans begging for a sequel for this movie because of how awesome it was, and this is Disney/Pixar's chance of giving them what they want, so while it may be shocking if the movie flops, but considering how many fans the movie has, I think it will do awesome in the box office.
Again, I completely understand your concerns, Odd1, because sometimes I do feel mixed about the idea of The Incredibles movie having a sequel (considering how many Disney sequels flop), but I'm just preparing for the worst and praying for the best (because I fucking love this movie!).
Like you said, though, I'm preparing for the worst and praying for the best.
I don't think the ending was that great, really... :T
Really, the movie wasn't too amazing overall. It's always been my least favorite Pixar film, after Cars.
LA LA LA I'M NOT LISTENING
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I understand and respect your concerns, Odd, because this movie is very popular and it's a classic and it's been a decade since it came out, and of course we're expecting the sequel to be good so it doesn't ruin the classic we all know and love. In your eyes, you may feel that the sequel is a bad idea because of that, right?

MARVEL UNIVERSE CAMEO
CALLED IT
Wasn't that the working title to The Peanuts' movie?

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI'm guessing it's because it took Brad Bird so long to figure out a good follow up story.
Or to convince Brad Bird to come back, period.
But Brad Bird always maintained that he'd be willing to come back if he could come up with a good story, if I recall correctly. I guess he decided he has? I trust Brad Bird's judgement—he did give us The Iron Giant, after all—but I'm still cautious.
I appreciate how incredibly civil you're being about this, by the way, thank you.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.@0dd1 Actually, despite my inner Pixar fanboy screaming from joy, I actually have to agree with you. Sequels are always a risky business. Just look at how polarizing Monsters University was- and that was just bringing a new story from an innocent one. The Incredibles was much more dramatic, significantly more plot heavy and has a lot more potential for either being really good or really terrible.
The reason why I'm cautiously optimistic is that, considering that it took Brad Bird this long to come around to making one, means either he came up with a really good idea or that he's finally caving into the fans. I hope it's the first because he's never directed a PIXAR film that I hasn't thought was completely original and brilliant. Heck, even people who lambaste PIXAR films as repetitive know they can't criticize Bird's films because of originality.
So as long as they Toy Story 2 the film(respect every aspect of the original, all new emotional story arcs), I'm all for a sequel.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. It's probably part of the reason why he's managed to gain the same kind of clout as a name-brand director as you get from a lot of big-time live action directors that seems to elude most animated film directors.
I know Bird direction MI:Ghost Protocol was a large part of the reason why I went to see that movie. And I'm glad I did.
This also helped, probably
technically, this will be Incredibles 3.Rise of The Underminer wasn't a memorable video game, but it was an average beat-em-up and it was basically Incredibles 2.
Except that, with as little as people remember Rise of the Underminer, odds are that most people won't be thinking of that game - if they even know or remember it exists - and so yeah, the whole 'this is technically Incredibles 3' doesn't hold a lot of water if you ask me.
- 64: Hey, that's my overblown reaction to good news on this forum!
Hey, Axe Cop took on a supervillain family in his latest arc too!
I'm really happy about this. I've always thought The Incredibles was one the Pixar films that would lend itself most to a sequel (hell, I think you could do a TV series).
Oh man, if ever there was a Pixar franchise that warranted a sequel (besides Toy Story), it's The Incredible. And Cars 3 isn't all that suprising, given that it's Pixar's most profitable franchise in the way of merchandizing.
