And yet that's exactly the kind of look they're trying to get closer too!
I think that Disney just releases their recent 2D films at really bad times to create the illusion that there's no interest in them.
Looking for some stories? That's a really bad business move, I'd say, intentionally trying to lose money, essentially. I don't see what the point in doing so would be.
So, Wreck It Ralph was the borderline Disney princess movie about a He-she in video game land who wanted to become something more and Vanellope is that shemale's life partner?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceOf the 53 films in their canon line-up, only 11 were about a princess or featured a princess in a major role. For the first 2/3 of their line-up, only 3 were princess films! Of those 11, the last 3 were all released in the past 5 years!! I call that over-saturation as of late!
Can't wait to see how they "cleverly" screw over THIS latest attempt to bring back the LOOK of hand-drawn animation.

You really need to calm down. Exclamation points and all-caps do not help you get your point across better.
Looking for some stories?Well, this should be a fun thread for the next... five years.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@43: kyun : Wow! I did not know that! I actually thought it was rotoscoping on 3D models when I first saw Paperman.
boop I'm more active on here@Shota: Okay, and how many of the rest of them are fairy tale movies?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Out of the 53 films, 10 or 11, if you think the Atlantis civilization in Atlantis is more fairy tale than historical.
The movie is NOT going to be in the style of Paperman. John Musker said it's too early to apply the technique in a full-lenght film.

I was expecting this, for that very reason. Kudos to them for not wanting to rush it.
Looking for some stories?Really? Explain why all these press releases are saying that then.
They aren't. It was all speculation.
They are using a similar technique to Paperman. But not the same one, as the one used in Paperman is way too complex for a full length feature..
I'm having to learn to pay the priceThis movie will be released in around 2018 or something. Plenty of time for them to use the same method.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI'm not sure you really can judge that, since you (assumedly) don't have experience animating in the method and style they used for that. Perhaps the technology just isn't there yet. Either way, if they say it can't work, it can't work.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Well, we can't change what they say the animation will be, I guess. And no, I just use traditional hand-drawing.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceIndeed.
However it turns out, again, hopefully this doesn't wind up the same way Kingdom of the Sun wound up. Much as I love The Emperors New Groove, it was a shame to see all that cultural research and authenticity go to waste.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here. But it still made a pretty damn funny movie.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceOh, I love The Emperors New Groove, don't get me wrong. I just have an entirely new perspective on it after learning its production history and watching The Sweatbox (which I'm now convinced should be a documentary required for film and animation majors to watch).
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
Where did you find it?
I watch half of it. Power shorted out and the next time I went to find it online it went missing.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceI watched it when it was still up on You Tube, but I know Vimeo still has an upload available if you want to see it.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
3. The assumption that the general audience doesn't want to see 2D animated films anymore.
