I wonder how the movie is doing financially.

Wikipedia says it's made 117 million so far.

I dont know if that's good or bad but I hope its a success. It's not a bad movie and maybe its success could lead to things improving at Dreaworks.

It was made on a budget of $85 million, so I think it's a modest success.

A box office success doesn't mean that suddenly Dream Works will change their minds about their layoffs and outsourcing.

Also, when this film will release on China theaters, since Boxofficemojo doesn't have the results of the Chinese box office.

I almost considered going to Burger King yesterday (Mar. 16) to get a kids' meal and a free Po-style sundae (with Oreo cookie topping) but it was too chilly for me to walk, plus I probably wouldn't get Zhen as a toy.

No it hasn't reached that mark yet. Typically an estimate for box office success is doubling the amount of the budget (so $170 million at a minimum).

Reminder that we have a box office thread about this.

So I watch KFP 4, it came out later in my countery due to some reason. I enjoyed it a lot, I agree with what has been said before. The only thing I can say is that I think the pacing was fast proberly due to the B-plot which I feel bad for saying as it was funny and could be James Hong last role in the franchise.

I feel that there will be more films given that so far looks to be a success, though I hope that Mike Mitchell doesn't direct, nothing against him as I have enjoyed some of his films, but after finding out about the behinde the scene action, I don't think he's the best for handeling the emotional aspect that is an importent cornerstone of the franchise.

I also think Juniper City is a great location for another tv show, i mean it's a chinese fantasy New York.

Sincerely S Awatching.

Curious what 4's short will be. 1's short told the individual backstories of the Furious 5, 2's short told the backstory of the Master's Council, and 3's short told the backstory of how the Furious 5 got together. Going by that pattern (a backstory short, either about characters introduced in the movie or the Furious 5), I'm guessing 4's short will either be:

  • An extended backstory of Zhen.

  • The backstory of Chameleon.

  • Showing the adventures the Furious 5 were on during 4.

A Secrets of the Furious Five style set of shorts, but delving into more about the villains, would be really cool.

So there are already 'leaks' concerning KFP 5. Honestly I don't know how true they are but I think it's cool to belive at least.

I’ll remain skeptical until we hear otherwise.

If it is, I just hope they keep the plot line with Zhen.

Never trust a leak that tells the fanbase exactly what they want to hear (or, conversely exactly what they fear).

Plus the movie only came out like last week.
