As long as they don't downplay the humor(Which is a deffinate never).
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI like the beak, it's very Jet Link.
I was worried this was going to be polarizing.
I'm not as optimistic as I was previously. The designs in show lack little subtle quirks that are in Rebecca's work. It's now getting away from her designs and becoming more of a uniform sterility that wasn't in the pilot. I don't like anything about Pearl now. You'd think that just a change to the nose wouldn't be so bad, but then all of her animation makes her look autonomously rigid. Tough breaks all around on the designs.
This is not a good sign. Everything else seems fine though.
Golly. No wonder the pilot wasn't supposed to leak. The changes are kind of just not as good as what they had to begin with. WELP. Too late for that now.
http://www.longcriercat.deviantart.com I'm thirsty. Got any ink? Resident Pen Ward antagonist. Why are people worried before it's even aired? I haven't noticed anything that looks like a good concept gone bad. Honestly, to me it looks pretty cool.
There's going to be controversy about how the hungry, less responsible one is fat.
Because fans of Rebecca Sugar know how she draws! Wasn't one of the major points of the show that it exemplifies one of her own creations? And now they just redesign the characters so they'd be easier and quicker for off-shore studios to animate? Not to mention the pilot already got leaked, which adds salt to the wound! No wonder CN tried to take it down!

Theme Song
Ok now that's a pretty cute theme
It's pretty sweet.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Tastes Like Diabetes. In a good way.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceInterview with the creators.
lol it got into the refrigerator
No one's raised a stink yet over how a young boy gallivanting around with three older women is somehow more acceptable than a young girl doing the same with guys? Good job thread!
But that's a story for another time.Well, I don't think anybody would complain about a girl having three older brothers (biological or not) in the first place, so...
(Will watch the interview at a time when I'm not awake at 5:30 for some reason.)
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Looks neat I'll be sure to check it out.
That fight scene...oh my gosh so nicely animated. (*_*)
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Peral is younger than Steven, Right?
EDIT: I meant to say "Amithyst", but still, yeah. youngest is Steven.

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceNah, Steven's the youngest. (Possibly by many years?) That's much of the whole point of his character, and they seem to be playing the protective big sis thing with all of the other Crystal Gems towards Steven.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I especially like the little musical touches they have for each of the characters fighting.
Looks to be shaping up to be a great show already. Cartoon Network... I can see my favorite cartoon channel that I grew up with once again. So many great shows. I've missed you. TT_TT
But that's a story for another time.New trailer
All in all, this show looks like it's going to be pretty good. I'll be sure to catch the first episode on November 4th on my TV. I haven't this excited for a show on Cartoon Network since Young Justice was cancelled.
What's the deal with all the people freaking out about the art style? There hasn't been too much of an noticeable change, IMO. It still looks like Rebecca Sugar's design.

No, it is noticeable, the Crystal Gems are not sexy-hot any more. They're just kind of cute, in an ape-pixie-robot way.
However the initial shock is long gone; I still like the designs, and the artwork as a whole, and the animation and backgrounds look terrific. The whole picture looks better than Adventure Time.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Steven: I just turned all my fingers into cats!
me: pfffttt
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. It's always worth it to add cat jokes. If you are a writer/animator and you think to yourself: "Should I add something cat-related here?" The answer is always yes.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
Not nearly as much as it is now...she used to be the hottest one, to be honest.
I guess she never really had upper body muscle, but not noodle arms, and her body flowed together believably rather than appearing...like an assembled robot.
And Pearl didn't have the beak. Amethyst and Steven were similar to how they are now though.
The singing is going to be awkward, but so far it's been cute. Maybe not the drive a van into your heart clip, but the one in the pilot about the Crystal Gems was kind of heartwarming and the one about Cookie Cat is about a cat from space who left his family behind and is a pet for your tummy, so what's not to like.
