Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

We are missing some good telepaths.
Like there is a lot of mutant mind readers. Xavier, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Psylocke (Betsy/Kwannon), Empath, etc.
Team telepath is a standard position on any team. Helps coordinate and keeps everyone in contact.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I hope they don't go that route. Frankly, that sounds really dumb to me as a hamfisted Remember the New Guy?, and it goes against Xavier's cohabitation dream. Mass mind control is not cool. That would kill the character before it was even released.
People already took issue with the Eternals having an Alien Non-Interference Clause as a handwave for why they didn't show up. Doing the same thing with a group as public as the X-Men sounds like a bad idea.

It would honestly make more sense to make them The Elephant In The Room, folks who are there, who people don't talk about, because they really don't want to... much like the Skaven in Warhammer. I'm not saying it's guaranteed to work well, but at the very least, more of a chance of working than mind-wiping.

Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...Random thought: are there any superheroes active in Chicago in the MCU?
Trust no one.Going by the MCU wiki, the closest would be Phastos from Eternals, since he lives in Chicago with his husband and son. Marc Spector also used to live in Chicago as a child.
Oh yeah! I forgot about Marc's life in Chicago.
And I didn't realize Phastos lived in Chicago either.
Trust no one.Riri Ironheart is from Chicago but she's currently at MIT. Or Wakanda. Not sure.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOkay, we have an official title at last: Agatha All Along.
Source is the official Twitter: https://x.com/marvel/status/1790494367016427660?s=46&t=7YT7yMPCw2VMMwQUxWj5_A
Show drops September 18.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Y'know, I'm hoping one of these days we get a Marvel scene where one of the main characters is browsing on the car radio and "Agatha All Along" plays, with everyone reacting in brief confusion before shutting the radio off.
And cool, release date! And glad to know the title stuff really was a gimmick in the end.
Also...just noticed that apparently there's a new Marvel Television logo. Neat!

Trust no one.Deadline is also saying Daredevil will be out in March and Ironheart sometime next year.
Opened a thread for Agatha: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=17157246740A09451900&page=1#1

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. There's also a new logo for Daredevil: Born Again that's a big improvement over what they were previously using.

The cold never bothered me anywayNow I feel even more pressured to finish the original series ASAP...but I don't want to leave my folks behind!
Trust no one.I really hope the Agatha show has a different title every episode as a quirky Running Gag to come back to.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. So a poll asking for the worst changes the MCU made to the Avengers just finished
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Okay, the Magneto part for Quicksilver is excusable cause they literally didnt have the rights at the time. I thought it'd be more, "They killed a prominent mutant off with a drone strike"
Rhodey being a Skrull isnt inherently a bad thing, since Secret Invasion is basically exposing so many heroes as replaced Skrulls. But the issue was the implication and statements that Rhodey was a Skrull since Civil War and that Rhodey who cried for his friend's last hologram isnt the real deal.
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.Turns out all of the MCU has been terrible forever. Who knew?
The Thor one is still one of the worst changes the mcu has ever done.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."A lot of those don't bother me. I also disagree greatly with the Hawkeye and Spider-man ones. I am also glad that they removed the Bucky/Natasha romance. Thor only bothers me in Love and Thunder otherwise I love goofy Thor much more than his comic version. About the only one I agree with is Wanda.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThor has been published for decades. He’s had many different demeanors. While seldom as goofy as in Love and Thunder, he has had more lighthearted eras
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNone of them bother me but clearly someone is great bothered they made an image listing all their gripes¬
New theme music also a boxUh I dunno. I've read plenty of runs like gilleon. And we'll comedy has always been a key part of the series. It was never the main part. Thor is usually the Straight Man in alot of jokes compared to Loki whose the funny one.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."A lot of those just feel like they're grasping for something to complain about. This is literally the first time I've ever heard "Vision never got to be evil" as a complaint. Also I love how apparently the worst decision they ever made for Captain America was "Didn't make First Avenger slightly longer". I. Uh. I can think of worse decisions they made for him, to be sure.
And, of course, "Rhodey was briefly a Skrull in a bad TV show" is peak comedy as an MCU critique. This is all so softball.

My Tumblr. Currently talking Dragon Ball and working my way back to Danganronpa V3.Simonson’s run blended a lot of humor into the epic storytelling
Not always from Thor but he got to join in.
It was a run that showed Thor could use his wits as well as fists. And that sometimes made him a witty character
Yes, Thor is usually a more somber character. But he has range.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersUh I don't mind some like that. But they just way over did it later.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
Except what would be the point of that? They still would have been raised by the Maximoffs.
