Hmm, this is an interesting one...

Lucina is a busy woman, so she has little time for such frivolities as going on vacation, even on weekends. In the morning, because it's beautiful and sunny up in the Alps, she insists that she and the royal court dolls have breakfast in the upstairs tea parlor rather than the usual castle dining room (the former has windows and the latter doesn't). Afterwards, she decides that this is a good time to parade them around town and check up on how the townfolk are doing herself, and maybe watch the street performers in the town square.

Sinistrina can only watch the townfolk enjoying the summer day through the pond in the world she's trapped in. ...Oh, you mean before she's trapped there? Well, she doesn't like sunlight much, so she just lies in bed that morning, occasionally gazing into her Magic Mirror and tending to her many pet spiders. Maybe sometime near sunset she'll meet up with Lucina at their favorite pub.

Amaranth curses the fact that the nice weather didn't come on a weekday, when she would typically ride her beloved horse, Pewter, out to the markets of other towns. Since she spends a lot of time outside anyway, she decides to take it easy and spend some time reading a book, provided she doesn't have to help restock her father's store.

Cormack wants to go on an adventure! Or get into a fight. Or practice with his many weapons. Anything active, really.

Felicio, a lion, loves the sun, so he decides to lie belly-up and soak up as much of it as possible. And hum or sing while lying there.

Nui's home planet doesn't have seasons, days, or weeks, due to being tidally locked onto its sun. But, they work at the equivalent of a university in a place on the sunlit side that is in eternal morning. During the uncommon waking hours when they aren't working, they throw on such sun protection as a solar panel-covered hat and a light cloak and go out and explore the wilderness a bit. A new place, hoping to find some inspiration for creating the antimagic device they've been working on for years... and a remote place, so that they can practice their more forbidden forms of magic without drawing odd stares.

Your character falls into a pit and finds themself suddenly surrounded by lots of venomous snakes. (Inspired by Indiana Jones, obviously.)

Seenarnha, a Mayatan alien cursebreaker who happens to have snakes as her favorite animal, is more likely to either jump in on purpose or have been pushed in by an enemy than to fall in accidentally on her own. She would Squee and telepathically commune with the snakes, befriending them and offering heat from her body. As much as she would want to cuddle, she wouldn't, her fur is close to zilch protection if her cuddling were to accidentally set off defensive biting. The closest she would get to cuddling is just holding still while the snakes slither all over her.

If some enemy were dumb enough to have pushed Seenarnha into the pit in the first place, that enemy would NOT be Sarquoql — he would know better than that, even if he had the snakes under his mind-control, pushing a cursebreaker into the pit would end it. Whichever stupid enemy would be doomed as soon as Seenarnha climbs out of the pit, because by then, she would have coordinated the snakes into an army, they'd all be alert and quick from her body heat, and she would have bargained to claw up her enemy's corpse into chunks of meat small enough to feed the snakes on the condition that they help her kill the enemy.

Same.

Archon accepts, but decides to convert the tribe to worshipping him. Given that he’s actually a god, he succeeds.

Klavigar eats not only the meal but the entire tribe, followed by the entire world. He proceeds to bring death to the universe.

Ozirmok and Rin accept and attempt to forge a political alliance.

Perfect Void rejects the meal in favor of eating the planet’s sun. It consumes the star and corrupts the inhabitants of the planet.

Solar Sentry attacks the tribe, as it believes them to be corrupted. In the world it perceives, they are, but it affects all worlds at once, causing it to commit several unintended murders.

Soulburst violently attacks the people who present the meal to him, incinerating the wilderness around as well. He does the same to everyone he meets, until the country and eventually the world is little more than a scorched wasteland. Driven completely insane by Void, he takes little pride (or any emotion at all) in his actions, and he returns to his own world.

Your character has been imprisoned for a crime they did not commit.

As the child of a human and the Anthropomorphic Personification of fear and nightmares, Phobia is almost fearless and is immune to feeling fear, terror, or despair from supernatural sources and most natural sources.

The one thing she fears? Her family, friends, or people she cares for dying on her, and being unable to save them.

The situation here is exactly her worst nightmare come true.

The mission would most likely be one to stop cultists from summoning an evil god into her world, the victim would be a human she'd have made friends with, and depending on how much support she gets from her human and supernatural/nightmare friends and allies, Phobia would either become extremely distraught and would suffer a breakdown, or go into a Roaring Rampage of Revenge as she becomes even more determined to complete the mission to avenge her fallen friend.

Your character has to experience their worst fear come true. How do they react and do they overcome it?

April's biggest fears are betrayal and failing when failure could have been prevented. She distances herself from all but a few people because of trust issues (which actually makes it hurt more if betrayal does happen, since she trusts so few people to begin with). In the case of preventable failure, she'll probably beat herself up about it. Either way, she won't let it stop her entirely.

Your character has to cooperate with someone. The catch is, they absolutely hate that someone's guts. Who are they working with, and how do they react?

For my character, it would probably be a female Inspector Zenigata-type co-worker Susannah at work she'd be co-operating with on some work project. Susannah, in an obvious case of Mistaken Identity, mistakes my character Alexandra ("Lexie") , for an employee cooking the books (which is why she hates Alexandra and misnames her). (There is a similar-looking woman within the place, but not an absolute Identical Stranger for Alexandra).

Susannah's Inspector Zenigata-type morality comes from her morality she has.

She'd probably end up working on some investigation and it'd be Teeth-Clenched Teamwork for both of them, although the woman would probably do a Heel–Face Turn and stop antagonizing Alexandra once things have been worked out. Alexandra's co-worker Suzannah would probably be seen, In-Universe as a Villainy-Free Villain.

Varla and Soryn are both living sex weapons for different reasons. Varla was captured and put through Training from Hell, while Soryn was genetically engineered. Varla hates what she has become and has renounced it, and she hates Soryn for not having the same attitude. Furthermore, Varla's captors have a bounty on her head for her safe return, and Soryn usually busies himself trying to claim that bounty, because that's what he was genetically engineered to do.

When Soryn accidentally activates a bunch of yanderes, they herd him and Varla into a Closed Circle so they can try to get rid of Varla and each other, with the last yandere standing getting to claim Soryn.note  Varla is able to convert lust into magical energy, so theoretically doing X-rated things with Soryn would give her enough power to trap all the yanderes in hallucinations at once, but she's too Trigger-Happy with her Chastity Dagger for that to work, so instead they're forced to stay out of the way and hide as the other yanderes kill each other, waiting until the opportune time to ambush and execute the last yandere.

Varla would be constantly accusing Soryn of infatuating the yanderes on purpose for a Genghis Gambit uniting her with him. He would insist that that's the stupidest plan he's ever heard because yanderes are more trouble than they're worth. Even though Varla would try to avoid bad times to bring up the subject, the sound of bickering would still sometimes give away their hideout.

In the end, Varla would sport a few new fading scars from the yanderes and Soryn would sport a few new fading scars from Varla's Chastity Dagger. He'd give her a sporting head start in gratitude for her saving his life, and Varla would part ways with "Goodbye and good riddance!"

With so many of my characters being adrenaline junkies, I'm gonna fish around for one who wouldn't pick Awesome, Dear Boy... Rosalind Lumina Eisenberg would count her lucky stars for a Competence Zone job updating maps of the wilderness, as it wouldn't change much of her life — she already spends long periods of time isolated and wandering far and wide with her herd of mustangs, keeping track of landmarks and food and water sources, the job would merely give her one more reason.

Mequoql has Light 'em Up powers and likes to sing and dance. If all she has to work with is herself in a White Void Room, she'll probably record herself doing an ethereal ballet surrounded by her pretty colorful lights. Come to think of it, an off-white Mayatan on a pure white background would look pretty ghostlike, with all those apparently disembodied black spots moving around...

My character, Michelle (Swedish surname to be decided, she's Swedish-American currently in my Canon but this could change) would probably take her girlfriend Rebecca to a new Mexican-American restaurant in London that they'd read about on the Trip Advisor Fictional Counterpart.

They'd probably enjoy the large nachos, tortillas and loads of tequila!

It'd be fairly simple: good food, a couple enjoying themselves, and probably set around Christmas time.

Joana would go back to 1998, seek out Jan (who hasn't yet started her indie city pop career at this point but is a successful young academic with tons of persuasion skills) and ask for her help to commission this study on the impact of P2P music-sharing four years ahead of the schedule, helping foster a large online music-sharing community two years before the historical Metallica v. She'd be pretty good at doing it, and would take them to and from their homes, although there'd be a substantial fee for doing so.

Mal and Haruko both just start attacking people.

Your character(s) are stuck in a waiting room for several hours, with nothing but a TV playing an extremely boring-looking show with no sound and a couple of kids' books. How do they entertain themselves?

  • Usually Ella-Maria will have packed plenty of library books ahead of time, but if the facility limits or forbids cargo, she'd at least examine the kids' books already there, then (assuming Arilay isn't there to lecture her on "Constant vigilance!") probably fall into an intense daydream.
  • Assuming that Mequoql the Mayatan isn't disguised as a human, she will start singing whatever playlist of Ear Worm songs happen to be running through her head at the time, probably using her Light 'em Up powers in time to the beat. If she has enough floor space and energy, she'll dance among her own lights as well. There's a risk that she'll fall into what she calls a performer's trance, which will necessitate repeated cues to get her attention once her wait is over. If she falls into a performer's trance and accidentally starts singing an erotic song, she'll be very embarrassed once the song is over and she realizes what she just sang.
  • Twin Mayatan vampire twins Aynara and Arnaya will try to resist the temptation to engage in spooky theatrics for the purpose of creeping out the receptionist. The longer they wait, the more likely their willpower is to fail. If the several-hour wait is unfortunately timed to go past the start of the Mayatan moon alignment and the rest of the Web of Friendship can't get to Aynara and Arnaya in time, all bets are off, the twins will forget why they're there and go on a bloodthirsty rampage.
  • Screwy Squirrel Salsa hates waiting. She will immediately start dismantling the TV looking for parts to use in an improvised explosive device, not bothered by the shocks she gets along the way. She'll extract other parts to use out of the fluff of her tail, possibly including a few wrong items. She'll cease activity if someone starts watching her, whistling until either the witness goes away on their own or she gets impatient and drives them off with an air horn.

Same waiting game

My characters are from a fantasy setting with no TV so I just assume this is an AU. The answers still reflect their personalities.

Serina will read the kids book and snark at it, eventually converting it's innocent plot into something more raunchy and violent, but containing the loving and fun quality of most kid's books.

If Nila is in the room alone she will just sit and wait, maybe watch the TV and try to figure out what is going on. If their is someone else with her she will talk to them. She will read the children's book and enjoy it's pure cute innocence. At certain points in her life she might cry, and hate herself for doing so.

Tobia will try to do nothing but will quickly grow bored and proclaim how bored he is. He'd rather do fam drudgery than just stand still. If Nila is their she will tell him to stop complaining. Eventually he will probably try to just nap and let that take up the time.

Javin would pace back and forth.

Alana would be lost in thought.

Deneira would look at the TV and wonder what the show is all about.

Your character decides the world is not worth saving. How did they come to this conclusion? Will they snap out of it? If your character literally cannot think this way, why not, why do they love the world so much?

Thassilae's world revolves mostly around her family, and her character arc is heavily centered around the concept that "family" is not necessarily the same thing as "relatives." For her to go that far would take one hell of a Trauma Conga Line, even worse than the one she's already experienced in canon. Basically, every single person she cares about even a little bit would have to die, and everybody else would have to somehow either be responsible, or openly not care. All of them. And it wouldn't just be her suffering that they'd be indifferent to, but all of human (and Frost Giant, and Trollkin) suffering. Maybe that might do it.

Farrah would be slightly easier to push over the edge, if only because she gets even more emotionally invested in the people close to her than Thassilae does. Every time she's lost somebody, she's had somebody else to fall back on for support, so you would have to remove her entire support network for her to say "screw it, let them burn."

Einarr Silverteeth already figures that anybody who won't submit to his rule isn't worth saving.

Your character has just received notice that they have been conscripted into the military (or setting-appropriate equivalent).

Funnily enough, being conscripted into military is a part of backstory for some of my characters for my Superhero/Thriller book.

Mateusz Nowakowski (or Matthew, because Polish runs on For the Evulz) wanted to protest against going to war, but due to strict rules of European Dominion (All Parahumans conscripted into military had to obey, unless they wanted to face 10 years of prison or death penalty), he had no choice but to go.

Nicole Durand rather calmly accepted that fact, because she would serve in the same company as her brothers. But, she refused to use firearms. Her claws and Healing Factor were enough for her.

Olivier Ashworth was eager to join the military. He wanted to prove to his father his worth and to display his loyalty towards the Dominion. That enthusiasm died out after the first major battle.

Your character has lost a bet and now must sing in front of a huge crowd. What song do they sing and how well did they perform?

I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...

The entire Web of Friendship always bets on how long it takes the scientists to make a mistake big enough to let Sarquoql escape. And now Chlora Phyllis (genetically engineered ratplant) has to sing. She picks the shortest song she can think of to get it over with quickly, but unfortunately, her squeaky voice triggers a lot of feedback in the microphone and nobody can tell what she's singing because they're too busy clutching their ears.
