^Yeah, basically that. It just seems like someone's put a lot of care, intelligence and creativity into it, which is rare in kid's programming.

How could anyone past the age of 15 or so not notice? If it were just the shape of the machine, we could chock it up to realistic design and snicker behind our hands like the perverts we are. But there's also the wimpy old general boasting about how the city cannot be penetrated, and the very, um, spoogy manner in which the drill was defeated. There's no way it was all just coincidence. They should have just named the episode "The Deflowering of Ba Sing Se."

I have not been paying attention to the schedule. Is the finale this month?

Please tell me you're not serious. I recall thinking, 'oh, it's a big drill. cool. kind of looks like a caterpillar. Now, back to enjoying the episode.'

In all fairness to me, the rest of it hit me as sort of a perverted cousin of Fridge Logic, not during my first viewing of the episode itself.

If you aren't secure enough to laugh at a dick joke, you aren't a man. Or you're some kinda...alternative sexual division. One who don't have penises, and thus don't project their appearance everywhere. Perhaps they would be considered a more nurturing and thoughtful aspect of humanity? Perhaps they would ride unicorns and operate harpsichords with the blood of mountain trolls? Who knows in this crazy mixed-up world? Anything's possible, I guess.

I can't believe that by next week this entire series is coming to an end. It's almost tragic. But from what I've heard, the finale is as epic an ending it can get.

Hm. You know, from the gloating spoiler lady (most shippers I've met are women) I'd say: It's Toph and Sokka.

I mean, Kataang and Maiko have both been established as canon. What's left? It's damn well not Azula.

Geez, why does everyone feel the need to Pair the Spares? It is possible to go through trials and adventures with companions and just end up as lifelong friends. That's neither here nor there. Everything ends next Thursday through Saturday, right? With six new episodes? Sounds like fun. I'm sure that parts of the internet will explode.

Actually, it starts Monday, I believe. (Though most likely everyone who cares has already seen the first two on You Tube, so arguably Wednesday)

Well the first two episodes aired in Canada already, but the two-part episode that airs on Wednesday already came out on DVD (which also contains the episodes that aired in Canada).

Still, that means there is six episodes that we haven't seen yet, which is like 2 hours worth of new content. It's weird that Nickelodeon decided to have the big finale be around the same time as the Dark Knight.

On top on that, why did I have to move somewhere without a television, much less cable? Well, at least there is imeem or veoh.

Just watched Southern Raiders on You Tube (user named "demishaan" just put it up), and: The confrontation was kind of unsatisfying (although the guy's response - "You deserve revenge, so - why don't you take MY mother!" and, hey, how sucky is it that the Fire Nation retirement plan is "go live with your mom"? - was morbidly hilarious), but li'l Katara was unreasonably cute.

It was kind of funny watching Azula being completely batshit. But I'm not clear on how exactly Zuko survived - the first time he was falling and suddenly...commandeered an airship, I guess? And maybe he used firebending to control the engines to lift it up to be level with Azula's, and just stopped doing so right before he came into view of the audience? Least sensible Suicidal "Gotcha!" ever, is what I'm trying to say here.

Incidentally, I know the end's coming up and there's not really anywhere it could have fit in, but it would have been nice if there was a Toph/Zuko field trip episode. It seems like she gets shafted as far as character focus goes, although maybe that's just me thinking it would be totally okay if she were the Spotlight-Stealing Squad.

where's a good place to find Avatar torrents? Last time I did a blind search for an episode download everything looked like illegitimate malware fronts:(

@Haven:

I don't think Zuko commandeered an airship so much as he was lucky enough to land on or catch hold of one that was still rising.

@Zetji - Don't ask for torrents and such. It can get the owners of this site in trouble.

I am disturbed that Katara would resort to using bloodbending again with so little reason. It's not like she needed it to subdue the guy.

I spotted:

Overall, for me, a so-so episode. It closed that last major Backstory hole for the main characters.

(BTW, ccoa, your spoiler tags failed. I really don't know why we need spoiler tags in this thread, though. Wouldn't you expect spoilers in these show threads?)

Edit: As for Ember Island, I liked that one. It was funny.

It seemed to both recap the major events (skipping recent ones, since they're still fresh in our minds), and to bring out some of the lingering personal issues (so they can be resolved in the finale, most likely).

I think I might've gotten bored with the series, because the latest episode evoked only boredom.

But maybe it was just a subpar episode. Who knows? Still, they're probably going to bring up the stuff for the final episode. I hope.

Sparky Sparky boom man, I will miss you.

What happened to Ursa hasn't been resolved yet, but I'm not sure you'd call that major.

Well, it was just a recap episode, just packaged a little differently. A little less boring than a straight recap, but almost nothing in the way of new or interesting material, other than the Zuko/Toph scene and the Aang/Katara scene.

And Combustion Man? Really? O.o He was a completely undeveloped character with glaringly out-of-place powers. I'm relieved he's gone.

Really, will two hours be enough to cover: -Ursa -whatever Iroh's been up to -what the deal with the White Lotus is -whatever Bumi's been up to (he's in the preview, anyway) -whatever the Earth King's been up to -what happened to Mai & Ty Lee (they can't just skip the finale, after all) -Koh -oh, and the arrival of Sozin's Comet

I guess we'll find out tonight. Maybe somebody read those rumored comics and already knows, but please wait 12 hours, please? (Probably, they're saving a bunch of plot threads for the movie*, and to keep the possibility of a fourth season open.)

Last I heard, the movie was going to be split into a trilogy, with each season compressed into a single movie. It probably won't be a 100% faithful retelling, but it seems like it will be close.

From a spoiler-free review I read ((linky)), it sounds like it isn't going to wrap up everything, but it will have a sense of closure. Whatever that means. It's probably review-speak for they left it open for sequels but the fans (probably) won't riot if there aren't any.
