When questioned by Anis about why she chooses to follow a code of honor in a world that is very unfair and unkind to them, Drilley proclaims that she believes in the power of listening to a conscience, and that doing otherwise would be a very difficult path to live.

As the two of them wonder how she managed to get past their army, Marian simply tells them to ''leave, and never dare attack the Crown Kingdom ever again''. Her presense alone is enough to make the two ''bow before her without realizing what they are doing.''

Her complete lack of memories means that she has no reason to hate the Raptures, and early in Chapter 14 she even soothes one that's dying in the aftermath of a fight, wondering why humanity needs to fight them. However, this act of sympathy quickly reaches the Ark's higher echelons and makes them ''very'' nervous that she could go rogue, with some using it as a pretext to try and take her in for questioning later on in the chapter.

The Commander winds up being roped into their pro-Rapture antics, including donning a homemade Rapture camouflage to blend in and interact with Raptures. [[spoiler:At the end of his questline, he is about to be arrested by Ark Central Government forces for colluding with Raptures when he is suddenly saved by Raptures despite his cover already being blown. He proceeds to ride off into the sunset with his new Rapture friends, with his final message to the Commander having him wondering if Raptures really are the enemy of humanity.]]
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: They want nothing more than to kill every last human and Nikke on Earth.
** [[spoiler:Subverted in a side quest series with a human that nicknamed himself "Raptilion." He's a blogger incredibly interested in Raptures and puts together a shoddy Rapture costume before heading to the surface. At first this seems a case of TooDumbToLive, but he surprisingly manages to mimic Rapture noises and movements close enough for them to not attack him, and is able to replicate this by giving the Commander a functional costume as well. * BigBadEnsemble: The Raptures are the main antagonistic force in the story, being human-killing machines that want exterminate what's left. They are lead by Heretics, Nikke-like androids who want revenge against humanity, and above them is the Rapture Queen who controls all Rapture operations.
* {{EMP}}: Alva Particles are a type of electromagnetic interference particle that is predominantly spread by Raptures. At surface level concentrations they typically interfere with communications and need to be dispersed before surface operation teams can establish contact with the Ark. At extremely high concentrations, however, Alva Particles can have EMP-like effects, causing electronics to spontaneously fail and directly impairing or disabling Nikkes.
* ItCanThink: [[spoiler:The heroes discover first-hand that the Rapture are not the mindless beasts they had been seen as for a long time. Their first official mission results in them encountering Raptures operating a human power plant, demonstrating human-like intelligence, and they soon run into Chatterbox, a powerful Rapture who is not only intelligent but can also speak human language.]]
* MechaMooks: The bulk of the Raptures' mechanical hordes are rather easily disposable, though in large numbers they can pose a credible threat.
* MechanicalMonster: The Rapture hordes are occasionally joined by a high-class Rapture, which serves as a stage boss and is both powerful and monstrous in appearance.

Snow White even hunts her down [[IWorkAlone all by herself with little to no aid]] because she doesn't believe anybody else is up to the task. [[spoiler:Red Hood is the ''[[OnlySaneMan only]]'' member of Goddess squad with enough clarity to accept their time has come and gone, and leaves a parting message to her friends that it's time to let a new generation take over so they can unite against their common enemy, ending this conflict once and for all.]]
* BigBad: Thus far the clearest hint at an overarching antagonist, although as of yet the Ark's inane politics have proven to be the most consistent obstacle in Counters' way.
* CanonCharacterAllAlong: The end of Snow White's ''White Memory'' text adventure in the ''OVER ZONE'' event heavily implies that the Rapture Queen is [[spoiler:Lilith, the former leader of the Goddess squad, whose head and brain were stolen from her Nikke body. The trauma of seeing this made Snow White [[GoMadFromTheRevelation undergo a Mind Switch]], losing all memory of the incident until she recovered her archived recollections sometime later. * DisneyVillainDeath: [[ZigZaggingTrope Zig-zagged]]. In the climax of ''Last Kingdom'', it gets its head ripped off of its body by T.A.L.O.S. and thrown far, far away. While the rest of its body disintegrates, the way it's been handled is arguably less lethal than what it has been subjected to in Chapter 13, [[CaptainObvious after which he was revived]].
* TheDragon: To Nihilister, who describes it as a favourite underling of hers.
* EvilLaugh: It laughs up a storm in its final moments as it realizes that its gambit to screw Counters over one last time has succeeded.
* FluffyTheTerrible: Nobody would expect a monstrosity that vaguely resembles a robotic gorilla to be named "Chatterbox".
* HealingFactor: Chatterbox possesses the ability to regenerate lost limbs with enough time. It actively exploits this ability to take out Mihara when it's first encountered by Team Counters, ''dismembering itself'' after Mihara uses her pain receptor swap ability on it to overload her with the feedback and incapacitate her, before regenerating the missing limbs.
* ItCanThink:
** Raptures typically possess the intelligence of extremely murderous animals at best. Chatterbox however, in addition to being able to talk, actually has a long-term plan in mind involving the truth about what the Commander actually is and actually takes the commander as a hostage instead of just kill him on sight like every other rapture would do. As Chapter 20 reveals, this was because it wanted to deliver him to its boss, Nihilister.
** During ''Last Kingdom'', Chatterbox rebukes Indivilia's plan to just kill everyone within Crown's castle, realizing that, despite the castle itself being a worthless location that the Nikkes within should have abandonded long ago, they still fought tooth and nail to defend it. This leads it to believe that the castle must hold a secret so important they are willing to guard it with their lives.
* KickTheDog: Its last act before being destroyed is to essentially turn Modernia into an unresponsive vegetable via direct injection of Rapture code into her brain, just as [[FightingFromTheInside Marian's personality had resurfaced]]. Andersen even says as much that Chatterbox did it entirely out of spite.
* KilledOffForReal: Gets destroyed by Snow White and Counters during the assault on the Rapture facility in Chapter 13. [[SubvertedTrope Pity it doesn't last.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: Every scene with him is deadly serious. Someone is going to get maimed or hurt the moment he shows up.
* LastBreathBullet: Determined to take down at least one of the heroes before Snow White kills it, Chatterbox's head falls out of the sky and strikes Marian directly, causing her corruption to relapse despite the absence of NIMPH in her brain. However the train was made with rather obsolete technology and was thus abandoned and left to rot. When the Raptures took over it however, it became FAR from obsolete, and now roams the surface, becoming a large threat.

* {{BFG}}: The giant particle cannon that the Alteisen is towing can unleash giant green beams of death that can OneHitKill almost any Nikke if you have equal or lower squad power.
* CognizantLimbs: It has separate gun and missile turrets that can attack and be destroyed independently of each other. When all turrets are destroyed, the Alteisen will pull back, and repair them, while simultaneously warming up its particle cannon main gun.
* LightningBruiser: Ever heard the phrase "hit by a runaway freight train"? The Alteisen will subject your Nikke squad to that saying literally. It's absolutely bristling with weapons, from smaller turrets and missile launchers, to the giant double barrel particle cannon that can cause a TotalPartyKill. It's also very heavily armored and can take quite the beating.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: It likes to shoot massive destructible missiles from the front engine. When it enters its second phase, it'll alternate between releasing missiles, and attempting to ram your squad.
* MilitaryMashupMachine: Despite being called a train, and looking like one, it uses treads like a tank to move independently from rails, and has a battleship grade main cannon.
* RammingAlwaysWorks: If you fail to destroy its interruption part in its second phase, it'll ram the train your squad is on, dealing moderate damage across your entire squad. It'll then follow up with a broadside blast that'll deal ''extreme'' amounts of damage.
* TraintopBattle: Your Nikke squad is on top of a train, fighting an enemy. The twist as that the enemy is ''also'' a train! And a very heavily armed and armored one at that!
* WaveMotionGun: That giant double barreled particle cannon isn't for show. Fail to destroy the interruption part in the first phase, and it'll sweep two giant green lasers across the screen, most likely ending your run right then and there.
