Chapter 7:

Well shit, I retract my word from Chapter 6, Power doesn't lie about her cat, Nyako, being kidnapped by the Bat Demon as we got a lot of heartwarming scenes between Power and Nyako until said bat demon. When said Bat Demon already drain Denji's blood, he then betrays Power by getting her cat eaten and Power also lets herself getting eaten as a possible form of atonement. We also saw some scenes between Denji and Pochita which made Denji pisses off towards the Bat Demon and transform himself into a chainsaw man so yeah...

There's a chapter 7 up somewhere already?! I don't see it on Viz or MS. :O

I guess the question is whether Power is simply a on-off character meant to demonstrate the complexity of Devils, or whether she'll survive this somehow. I'm betting on the simple fact she's a Blood demon taking up residence in a human corpse to get around. I wouldn't be surprised if her true form is what she's been forming her weapons from the whole time, sending pieces of herself outside the host to use her powers. If that were the case, the host being destroyed doesn't mean Power is dead unless she's completely dissolved or digested.

.......oh man. I got it. Power loses the current body, but ends up getting her hands on a new one. Denji hears about it and goes all excited to get his reward of BOOBS......only the new flesh is a dude. Power doesn't get what the issue is, he can still touch the chest.

@harostar You might be right tbh... Power is a demon and I'm sure that isn't her real body unless if she got digested by the Bat Demon. Inb 4 there would be some interesting surprise though.

Yeah, she's a Fiend — a demon that has taken up residence in a human corpse. Based on the Muscle Demon that showed up in the second chapter, she probably functions in a similar manner. It was made from a mass of muscular tissue and attached to the girl's muscle tissue to function. Power is probably actually a sentient mass of blood or ooze monster, that has replaced the entire volume of a corpse's circulatory system to control the body.

Another thing that interests me is the bit about the importance of names for Devils. The scarier the thing they're associated with is to people, the more powerful they can become. So mundane things like coffee or tomatoes would be weak as hell, but something associated with gruesome deaths like a car or a chainsaw is going to become powerful.

They're betting on Denji, as a chainsaw, becoming incredibly powerful because of the object's frightening reputation and violent imagery.

So how about Blood?

That's a primal fear, right there. Most people are instinctively repulsed or frightened by it, because of the association with violence and death.

@harostar That's a nice theory right there Anyways, I wonder if there is a good trope that can describe both Chapter 6 and 7 :thonk:

Oh, so she didn't lie, huh… I liked that her reaction wasn't "I'M GONNA KILL YOU BASTARD" but "Damn, I do feel like shit right now."

And yes, if Power gets a new body it'll be a flat one, because Denji has to suffer in some way.

Actually… if her true form is blood, then swallowing it is probably a very bad idea.

Chapter 8! Action chapter, where Denji… saves…? someone. Kinda. I hope his character gets fleshed out soon, because his "I wanna touch boobs!" gimmick is gonna get old very quickly at this rate.

Agreed, but at least he's kinda sorta...maybe saving people.

The power of Boobs compels him.

Though yeah, I think this particular thing isn't going to last since Denji seems to swing from one thing he desperately wants to another. Usually it's something fairly mundane in terms of "life goals", but eating toast with jelly on it and touching boobs are pretty basic goals in life.

I will be amused if the actual fulfillment of that wish is off-panel.

"So that's what that's like."

"Yeah, I have no idea why the humans make such a big deal about it."

Chapter 8:

Today's chapter is about Denji fighting against Bat Demon which caused some destruction. However, Denji saved a people although still motivated by touching woman's boobs. Yeah... The shtick would get old quickly tbh. Hopefully the author would develop Denji's character in later chapters.

YAY Power is still around and they even saved the cat. Also, holy crap what is that new demon.

Chapter 9:

Welp... Power is still alive and she manages to save her cat. However, Denji now encounters a new demon and I'm surprised that Bat Demon had a lover... Wat!?

Chapter 10:

A battle of dreams!

Heh, "if I murder you then your dream was less worthy than mine" is a nice parody of Shonen stock tropes, though not terribly original.

Chapter 10:

Welp... Denji and the Demon tries to fight for their dreams but got stopped by a fox like demon from the Demon Squad known as Kon. Meanwhile Power and Denji got brought into a hospital and Nyako got brought into a vet

Man I hope this manga survives.

Chap 11… Denji will get his reward. In a stinking toilet. How romantic.

This can make for fun shenanigans.

I give them a couple days before they all kill each other and the house is destroyed.

These do not look like the kind of people that can sustain this living arrangement.
