Fair enough, granted, Piccolo's masan-makan-errr Special Beam Cannon was strong enough to kill Raditz and Goku in one hit.

But it took a while for him to charge and Ki attacks have always punched above their weight class.

Yeah, but that's still raw power from a ki blast.

Why didn't he just use Masenko?

Not all ki attacks are the same. Makankosappo needs a long charge up, but because of that it concentrates a lot more ki in a small spot so that it can penetrate a stronger opponent.

The long charge time was also because he was missing an arm apparently.

And Piccolo never uses the Makankosappo (that's right. I can spell it)/Special Beam Canon again in the manga, so we never really see what a normal one looks like, resulting in people assuming it always has a long charge up time.

Well, that may not be true. When he and Krillin hit Nappa towards Gohan (and Gohan promptly ran) he did fire a two handed blast that kinda looked like the SBC (Special Beam Canon), but it wasn't named.

Gonna need a source on that because I have not seen it worded that way in any version of that Raditz scene.

Piccolo has the long ass charge time in his fight with Frost with both arms.

That's because Toei kept using it even though Toriyama kinda stopped using it.

And since they only knew it from that one time Piccolo used it, they just kept the long charging time.

Like, this is a thing. It's been discussed on this very thread.

Piccolo does use a spiraly beam with both arms vs Nappa.

Yeah. I mentioned that, and he does it instantly.

As I've said, we've had this discussion before, but now I'm checking out places for the original transcript of that fight, and Piccolo never says losing an arm makes it slower.

In both the translation of the Manga I checked and the English sub, he simply explains that it take a long time to gather the necessary energy for it when Goku asks him if he can do it with one arm.

But we have talked about it before. I think it was Saiga who brought it up.

So blame him.

Speaking of Cabba, I do hope we see him again. I liked his and Vegeta’s relationship.

Maybe one day we can finally get that “Goku and Vegeta travel to Alt. Sadala” arc. I know they said they were sticking to using the movies to focus on other characters, but it would probably make a good, tidy film.

I also really Wana see Universe 6 earth.

I'm honestly surprised with how focused the Saiyans are, we haven't seen much of universe 6's Sadala.

Like, this is a gold mine if they need more Saiyan characters.

Okay, I just finished the celebration episode, and that was HILARIOUS. Laughed like a madman during all of it.

...Is Goku trolling Beerus? Like, I genuinely thought Goku knew Monaka was fake the moment he did the double ring out plan with Hit but he's acting like he thinks Monaka is the real deal? Then again Goku DID conveniently come up with an excuse for Beerus in the Monaka outfit to keep the charade. The one about splitting up like Buu. Plus Beerus' outfit kept ripping.

Also is this an anime thing because the CHARACTERS REALLY LIKE YELLING AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS ABOUT HOW THEY ARE GOING TO FOOL GOKU INTO FIGHTING A FAKE MONAKA AND THAT BEERUS IS IN THE OUTFIT.

Like, Yamacha was a big IDIOT for just spilling the beans about Monaka watching the fight, but everyone else was doing the same thing, like Beerus LOUDLY SAYING THAT TRUNKS WANTS HIM TO DRESS UP AS MONAKA, or VEGETA TELLING PICCOLO HE"S A BAD ACTOR IN FRONT OF GOKU.

It's funny, Beerus in the Monaka costume was added to Heroes last year if I remember correctly.

@Miraculous: Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Earth equivalent in U6 destroyed? Champa's main reason for the silly tourney was he wanted to eat the same food Beerus had in his universe due to Earth being so accessible.

It took me way too long to realize Champa's name pun comes from champagne, not champion. Felt abut as dumb as I did the day I learned Bulbasaur and its evos were based on frogs.

I feel like we've been over that before. Piccolo states the Makankosappo is a technique he can use with only one arm, not that it's one-armed by design. It's just that him only using one (and the long charge up time) is so iconic they keep it that way at all times even though it was the specific circumstances of the Raditz fight and nothing inherent to the technique.

I think that's just one person's interpretation that got spread as fact.
