And nobody thought that would be confusing with "tablet" as "small table"?

No, because that's exactly why it's called that, because it looks like a little table. (or did to whoever named it that in like 1200.)

Incidentally, tablets are a subset of pills, pills also includes caplets (diminutive of capsule) which are a different thing. Though the distinction isn't relevant to most people outside of the pharmaceutical industry.

Rice University: Molecular jackhammers’ ‘good vibrations’ eradicate cancer cells. Researchers found that aminocyanine molecules, which are used in synthetic fluorescent dyes to (among other things) detect cancer, can vibrate when illuminated by tissue-penetrating near-infrared light – enough to rupture the membrane of the cancer cells they're attached to.

I'm not a doctor or a biologist, so I'm not 100% on the uptake, but my understanding is that the molecules can target cancer cells by either 1) bonding with their unique membrane lipids, or 2) accumulating on the cancer tissue through the local cancer-induced growth of blood vessels. The vibration-inducing NIR can also be delivered in the form of a laser for precision. And in any case, the tests run on mice with melanoma (as well as lab-grown human melanoma) involved injecting the dyes straight onto the cancer tissue.

Sounds to me like there is lot of potential for hitting innocuous cells/missing cancer cells. Which is really the main issue with all treatments for cancer - cancer cells aren't that different from normal ones.

[up] Your summary is a little misleading.

12 amputations have been performed by the hospital over an 11 day period and some of those 12 attended the game. There wasn't 12 amputations that can be definitively tied to the game.

Oh my God, I really must go to an orthopedics this week.

For past couple of months, whenever I move my limbs in even a slightly large range of motion, I keep feeling and hearing popping of my joints.

I better go see a doctor if that's perfectly fine or if I should spray some WD-40 on my joints or something.
