I loved this manga, but I haven't seen a new scan of it out in months. I know it updates infrequently, but surely there are new chapters out by now?

After the first two volumes, I believe. The shift is more a matter of art than writing or content though. If you don't like it four chapters in, it's probably just not the manga for you.
