I'm excited for this game too. I already pre-ordered it at Gamestop. I think I'm going to specialize with the Jet Armor. I probably should have pre-ordered it at Best Buy to get the Jet Armor pre-order weapons instead of the Battle Armor ones, but I'm sure that there will be better weapons to get in game anyway.

It would have been nice to have 4 player co-op instead of three, to get a player of each armor type on the field.

I think that was done for both balance and playability on the network.

The game does look great. Tuesday is going to rock.

3 out of four is still good. It will be neat trying to think of good strategies based around the teamwork of different combination of classes. I just hope that one class doesn't overshadow the others. I get the feeling that Tactical and Battle might end of being better than Jet or Trooper, if only because they've been getting a lot more exposure, but then again, they are completely new to the series so I guess the developers just want to show them off.

Supposedly trooper armor is fast and can carry pretty much any weapon, Jet armor will fly and be fast and the energy weapons :3, Tactical armor has the turrets, mines, and radar. Battle armor is heavy weapons but has that nifty shield.

Grr, it looks like no pre-order DLC for those outside the US. Really fucks me off.

News for those in the U.S. at least. Release date pushed ahead to July 2nd check your local retailer. Canadians check your local retail stores. U.K. folks bad news delay of 3 weeks.

First from the gamefaqs forum and then I called my gamestop I reserved my copy in today. I think it is in gamestop only. Multiple folks have called and confirmed new street date is Tomorrow. Check your local gamestops.

Edit: Just got the text confirming it is in tomorrow on my pre-order.

Nope all the UK retailers and Amazon have nothing about pre order bonuses, also 14 more days to wait here grrr.

Ian: Sorry mate sounds like you guys got hosed by your local businesses. Maybe they will offer the weapons packs on the cheap later.

Hey at least you can co-op online now. I am picking up my copy tomorrow after I get up.

Looking about online it seems EU wasn't given any chance at the offer, certain UK retailers are giving money off to those who pre-ordered because of it.

Honestly has left a bitter taste regarding this game, almost tempted to cancel pre-order whilst I can.

Really it has nothing to do with the game itself. That would damn silly to cancel the game because of it. I seem to remember this sort of thing happening to gamers in U.K. and Europe often enough.

It is either because of how the business transaction rules worked out for the U.K. or D3 is being a bit of a dick.

Trust me the game is fun and worth picking up.

Judging from the posts about it, it seems D3 are a bit of a dick really.

I said almost, I'm buying it in bad grace .

It is fun. It has cheese more along the lines of a mix of Star Ship Troopers and Aliens instead of "Blind Idiot" Translation Cheese. They do use several of the lines from 2017 in the game though. Including the ever famous. THEY KILLED FATTY! and "They are a herd of people eating monsters. We can't let them have their way." As well as odd musings about what the ravagers might taste like, jokes about the neighbor hood going down as you level it with explosives etc.

The new armor classes are fun. I spent three hours alone on the first two missions playing with the armor types and various handful of weapons I unlocked and testing small ideas.

tactical armor mines for instance can double as remotely detonated charges if the enemy does not step on them directly.

I've often seen the notion of skipping a stellar or extremely promising product just because some execs decided to be nasty. I've never seen the point with that myself to be honest.

Wow I am not even to the end of the first campaign and I have been playing for hours getting the points to level up all my armors to tier 3.

Truly the best way to play with a friend because there are situations where your characters weapon sets don't cut the mustard. The weapon names are amusing. Dos Tortuga fires two really slow but powerful rockets. It even mentions the Air Tortoise Missile.

I've played through normal mode, and I've picked up some actual air tortoise missiles.

After having played 2017, this definitely feels like it's on a smaller scare, but at the same time it's got a much better tone and presentation. I played one level each with each class, and after that I've been playing exclusively as Jet. It's nice being able to get over obstacles and to perch on a roof to bomb insects below. I was kind of hoping for faster flight speed, but maybe I'll get that when I level up some more. Once I'm done with Jet, I'll move onto Trooper, then Battle, then Tactical.

One thing that really bugs me is how there isn't much of an ending. I'm hoping that after beating Hard or Inferno it does have a real ending.

I'm glad the dialogue is funny, I enjoyed the cheesy lines from the previous game :D

Battle armor is a real beast and it puts the hurt on. Good armor for smacking around ticks. On the energy shield the gun ships beam attack will eat up your energy bar like no tomorrow. Two hits and it is gone. Missiles are great for gun ships but i have found gun type weapons are better for hammering hatches.

Looking at our page, it says the basic trooper armour means you can use unique weapons, what kind of unique weapons?

Unique Dropped Weapons I believe.

It is mentioned in the blurb for the armor in game.
