This I Knew It! on YMMV.Chuggaaconroy seems iffy to me, as it focuses on real life:
- In a sadder example, many fans correctly speculated that Emile and Masae were no longer friends, given Chugga chose to hire several different artists in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 rather than continuing to use her.
I've seen this on his Tear Jerker page: A Running Gag throughout this Let's Play involves Chugga mimicking Maxie's dub voice from Pokémon: The Series whenever he talks in the game. However, in episode 41, during Chugga's battle alongside Steven Stone against Maxie and Tabitha, he recalls how he used to think Maxie was a cool villain, citing his design and ability to be an intimidating villain by Pokémon standards, before his ridiculous voice in the anime meant he could no longer take his game counterpart seriously. It's not the saddest example on this page as he clearly has a lot of fun mimicking the "Brooklyn version of Inspector Gadget" voice, but for those who have had their opinions of characters that they once liked unfairly tarnished, it can be quite sad.
Hi!I went ahead and removed that example.
Okay so... given Emile was framed, let's repurpose this thread into a let's player cleanup thread.
Uh, why? The page still warrants cleanup all the same. (Especially with these things being what they are, it may not be advisable to take any side or weigh in too heavily...)
Also, y'know, normal cleanup could still be done that's unrelated to the controversy.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWait, Emile was framed? I was under the assumption that the allegations were accurate, but the situation was less Emile actually being a creepy weirdo and more Emile being blind to innuendo and not thinking through what he says (i.e. "Should we do Daisy on hard?").
They were taken out of context is what I mean. Especially Lawly who people thought Emile was flirting with when he wasn't told her age until after he had said all the joking stuff that they thought meant he was an Ephebophile. Honestly the fact he's tried to kill himself multiple times and had his ex fiancée Masae Anela break up with him, pretty sure he's suffered enough. He's apologized and I don't think we need to start a flame war by having people say the allegations were 100% true given Ant Dude's have been unproven thus far. And yeah I'm good with repurposing this thread into a general TRG cleanup.
HE'S TRIED TO KILL HIMSELF?!?
Yes he has made attempts, but did seek help (there's a giant Google doc statement he wrote which covers all the details - this thread actually prompted me to look it up myself). Please let him be for now.
Getting this thread back on-topic, I agree the TRG pages do need a good cleanup. Two things immediately stand out to me:
1) Since Colosseum 2024 was rebranded, does it still fall under the TRG page or should it go under Proton Jons content? (Ditto thrown controllers 2024).
2) Under the Web video cleanup page, there's a list of criteria for what is still acceptable to trope for Let's Plays. Two of the things which dont count are "adopting a quirky personality, cracking jokes, jump scares etc." and "playing through a game in the way it was intended, with or without mods," which the core team would fall under as well as a lot of their content. Does this therefore mean a lot of the tropes on their character pages would need to be removed or rewritten to avoid real life troping or relating to content from the LP videos? And would it still be ok to trope Colosseum and Thrown Controllers content (since there's original skits, gameshow elements etc)?

Bumping my earlier post about an example from Emile's Tear Jerker Page: A Running Gag throughout this Let's Play involves Chugga mimicking Maxie's dub voice from Pokémon: The Series whenever he talks in the game. Hi!The context behind that example is no different than any critic giving a harsh review on a piece of media that other people may actually enjoy. The point of a tear-jerker page (or any moments page really) is that it's meant to invoke a strong reaction. Even in the example itself, it mentions that it's not the saddest example on the page, so I'd say that it's stretching it a bit or a shoehorn. It can be cut in my opinion.
Major shoehorn, cut.
"As long as I have my comrades with me, I can do anything!" (She/Her) (Current Focus: Cleaning Hell Is That Noise misuse)I already did, but thanks!
Hi!
I do recall us having a cleanup for Let's Players, bit that went nowhere fast. Due to recent events revolving a certain Youtuber who is involved with The Runaway Guys, look on TRG Discord and their website for more information or if you wanna join the conversation. What this cleanup is concerned with is removing bias towards/against Chuggaaconroy and affiliates in their respective pages. This could also be a cleanup for Controversial Youtubers in general. I'd like to make one thing clear before asking people to help: I want non-biased tropers to help with this. What said youtuber did was not right, yes, but any cleanup that removes either the incidents or the good things these youtubers did, especially close friends of these Youtubers (like saying Nintendocaprisun and/or Proton Jon is guilty by inaction) will result in a Holler to the mods. I will also not hesitate to get this cleanup removed if things get too heated. Let's have a nice civil cleanup and no hostile feelings.
