Hey! Haven't seen you post on ages. Did you get my PM? As fate would have it, the manga I sent you is getting an anime soon(Winter of 2023 most likely or spring).
My favorite arc as still the Kyoto Trip arc with special mention to the snack shopping with Izumi and Shikimori. That pochi bite! UUUUUUNNNNNMGGGGHHH!

yup, I got it. Was actually going PM you that Shangri-la Frontier anime PV is out lol.
The trip arc was just amazing and Saruogi is a great chara. I don't know why, but I want to see him interact with Kamiya more. Also, the manga is on hiatus this week 
In terms of sales and other details like presence, another season is a no brainer although it's weird with Kodansha. They have a lot of shows(especially those with Doga Kobo) that never get second seasons(Danberu, Wotakoi, Senryu Shoujo, and several others I'm likely forgetting) so who knows. Would definetly love to see another season especially the Kyoto Arc(the whole reason for Izumi being so excited by the trip is both heartwarming and sad).
honestly, I'm a bit dissapointed with the anime. Dogakobo is a good studio but I don't think they were the right studio for Shikimori. They made the color palette and expression too flashy and more like a shojo. While the manga is a shonen romance that IMO has a more hot-blooded intense artwork and feeling. The anime isn't bad, but it just feels lacking.

I'm honestly fine with the presentation of the anime. I'm kind of more bothered that they upped Izumi's clumsiness. I'd have toned things down and made the opener similar to the manga and have it end with the slight gag of Izumi blurting out how much he loves Shikimori to her embarrassment.

Best Girl or Best Ship? Amusingly, out of all the expected favorites to win Best Ship, only Kaguya x Miyuki made the Top 3 and it's was in 3rd place behind Desumi x Fudou from Love After World Domination.
Best Ship, i would've thought the Kaguya-sama finale would cement their spot as the winning couple. i'm also shocked that Fudo and Desumi beat them, i thought their relationship was rather childish, so i put the anime on hold (might finish it later)

Given that when Shikimori was leading on Ani Trendz it got posted on the Official Japanese Twitter, I'm fairly convinced that Ani Trendz tallies votes from all over especially Japan where both Shikimori and Love After World Domination are fairly big and popular*(Tokusatsu in general really).
- Kaguya-sama is still bigger, but I think the deciding factors were the fact that in both winners the couples are already established, are VERY much in love, and there's a distinct lack of drama to distract from just taking it all in and basking in the fluff.
As someone on reddit said, sometimes it takes best boy to ge best girl.

Hope so too and that it's sale are also incredibly good.
At this point, I'm just burnt out and jaded with the reception it's gotten and the Anime Fandom in general and view it as walking through a fire of Cancer followed by a dive into a lake of AIDS mad drying off with a towel of Herpes. That's basically been my view of the anime fandom across the board for the last few years or so with little to nothing to break or challenge that view even in the slightest

pretty much the reason why I learned Japanese, mostly only read raws and only look at Japanese review now. There's also annoying people in the Japanese fandom, but at the very least, its people who understand the language (and culture).
Seeing Western reviewers who can't speak Japanese always commenting on dialogue despite only understanding through sub or dub and assuming something about Japanese culture despite barely knowing anything other than what they know from anime is just tiring. I'm really tired of hearing "mid" and "cringe" all the time.

Would like to learn the language, but that's a lot of work and not enough time. Outside of a handful of sites(here, Anime-Planet, a few reddits), I don't interact in any way with the "community" because of the above. The negativity in many places surrounding this and Paladin prior just made me fed up with it. Also, nice to hear from you again!

I wish I could say I enjoyed it. I wish I could say the anime was good or even great. But I can't. The absolute sheer grossness, hostility, toxicity, mean spiritedness, and hatred for no reason not even some vague bullshit about overhyped when ever post prior was just people being excited for the series has pretty much destroyed any enjoyment I had not just in this series, but in the entire genre of romcoms and the entire medium of anime and manga in general to the point where I can't be excited for adaption of other shows I like or even be happy for people getting that treatment now that I know how inherently petty and cruel large swaths of the community are. It was an eye opener on just how repugnant VILE and CRUEL the community all across the board simply for no other reason that it CAN be(Faraway Paladin Promised Neverland also gave me some insghts). So yeah. Series is likely about ened on whimper and that's a gutpunching shame to me.

No, it's not the last two. The summary for vol 18 doesn't say anything about it ending and I also follows the Japanese weekly chapter on Pocket and no, there's nothing about the series ending. Though, looking at the newest chapters, unless they continue to their college years, the series will probably end this year, though not that soon. Probably volume 20+
