Also the Xenoblade 3 DLC, a bunch of decent indie games...
It's definitely a good year for games.
Games have certainly hit peaks and sunk to sea trenches this year.
Oissu!I was watching Direct and something jumped out at me, they have Adam Jensen! His VA Elias Toufexis is voicing Same Coe, one of the companions. You can hear him talk in the "companions" section of the video.
That's such a blast from the past lmao, I hope they have at least some reference to Human Revolution in his dialogue.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnArs Technica: Microsoft promises Starfield has “fewest bugs” of any Bethesda game
Hoo boy, that's one hell of a bold claim, especially after the disaster that was Redfall managed to squeak though Microsoft's and Bethesda's QA inspection.
Simultaneously a bold claim and a low bar to clear...
Trans rights are human rights.I dunno, Fallout 4 was pretty stable for me.
That may be the lowest bar they've ever set for themselves. :p
"In a move surprising absolutely no one"Maybe they meant arthropod enemies.
Secret SignatureStarfield has no ground vehicles or mounts and only 10% of planets have life
Ground vehicles and animal mounts will not be included in the game. Instead, the main method of rapid traversal will be jetpacks.
And since we can't fly either, sounds like trying to traverse long distances is going to be a real pain. Hopefully fast travel will work for locations further out, especially in the randomly generated areas.
Oh, and we're only going to get around four love interests. Mass Effect trilogy this ain't.

"To travel rapidly, you will use jetpacks."
"Oh, so we're going to be able to fly?"
"No."
What's even the point of jetpacks?
Some of the tweets afterwards imply this might be a misunderstanding on Bethesda support's part. Hopefully it is, but frankly it probably won't make much of a difference even if true since I can almost guarantee you'll need to download a huge day one patch anyways.
EDIT: Come to think of it... why don't game companies switch to a media format which can store 100+ gb of data - like, say a USB or flash card? Because it's clear blu-ray discs are reaching their limit.

You can fly fine, what you can't do is have airborne vehicles.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnBethesda unloaded several animated shorts for the game.
What lovely art
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youIf you want to go into Starfield unspoiled, it might be time to start avoiding gaming social media for a bit. Early review copies have been released, and as a result some folks are already beginning to leak spoilers onto the web.
Multiple Starfield leaks in the last few days leaves Bethesda executive upset.
I'm going to wait at least a few days (probably months, but we'll see) for early reviews. Make sure it's not utterly broken on release. But I have been jonesing for a decent game like this for quite a while, so I expect to jump on it unless there's something terribly wrong with it.
Also, I still haven't heard one single thing about this game's story.
Reviews coming out
It's fine? Standard Bethesda Bugs are around, where NP Cs will wig out or fall through the floor. It doesn't crash.
The exploration is apparently very shallow. It also has a lot of, for lack of a better work, strange dated design. A lot of loading screens for example when you want to go explore a planet. NP Cs look weird.
On the positive the story while slow to get going is apparently decent. Gun combat is engaging and apparently the best Bethesda's ever made. A lot of reviews outline that while the game doesn't do anything spectacularly well, it does do alot of things fairly well, and there's alot to do.

It's worth noting that those reviews aren't necessarily representative, Starfield currently has an 88 on Metacritic. So far the consensus seems to be that it's excellent.
That doesn't mean those more mixed reviews are wrong of course, but they don't seem to be the most common perspective. For what that's worth.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnHonestly, "it does do alot of things fairly well, and there's alot to do" is all I really want out of a Bethesda game. I've got 300 hours on Fallout 4, and I did nothing but complain about that game's story.
If this one has a "slow but good" story, on top of the decent gameplay, I might have to buy this day of. Well, maybe not day of. I don't have a lot of free time. But we'll see.
I'm kinda in the same boat.
Hated Skyrim and Fallout 4 for shallow stories. I'm tired of Bethesda's "Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle" storytelling.
I'll listen to reactions to the game and maybe pick it up if they changed things around and put more effort into it. But if it's quite literally "Skyrim/Fallout 4 in SPACE" with all the story problems I hated, I'll pass.
I'm open to being pleasantly surprised. But not going to day one something I might just loathe, especially at these prices.

Trying this game, I gotta say, it's really hard to make piloting a spaceship boring but wow Bethesda have found a way.
Wanna go somewhere? Open your menu go to your star map, zoom out to find the system select it as your destination, then leave the menu then power up your drive. Cutscene. Arrive. Wanna land. open the menu again, pick where you want to land on the planet. Watch a cutscene of your ship land.
It's this weird antiquated design (and like, bad UI). Like, No Man's Sky's 7 years old this month and has been doing seamless take off and landing since its disastrous launch. Starfield is there in 2023 making take off and landing less organic than Wing Commander Privateer did.
The gun play is better than anything Bethesda's done. I'll give them that. Guns have a responsiveness they've never had.
At the very least, unless it turns out to be a disaster (dang it, I just incited Murphy's Law didn't I? XD), between this game, Tears Of The Kingdom, and Final Fantasy XVI, man is 2023 turning out to be one heck of a great year for video games.
Can't recall a year since 2017 that there have been just one awesome game after another.
